It is probably your right axle bearings. How fast are you going when you turn? When you turn left, the weight transfers to the right side and loads the axles. If you are on the smooth straight stretch of highway and gently turn left and right, but stay in your lane, does it do it? If so, it's bearings.

These Cherokees are prone to rear end problems. I have one!

2002 Dodge SX 2.0 I'm getting a howling or ( high frequency vibration of some type) noise from the front end when in motion. Lessens when steering is pointed left of center. No howling when at a...

The first thing I would check is for a bad wheel bearing. If the noise lessens when turning left than I would look at the left front first. Chalk the rear wheels or set the emergency brake. Put the transmission in neutral. Jack up the left side of the car. Grab the coil spring and rotate the tire by hand. If you can feel/hear the noise than your on the right track with the bad wheel bearing. I can give you instructions on how to replace if you need them.

Car makes a howling sound when ya turn the wheel when making a right turn sometimes, What is making it do this?

My car did the exact same thing. I had a 2001 Dodge Durango and took it to get looked at and they said it was the axle when I would turn left that would make the sound. The biggest problem is the howling sounds that gets annoying but it is nothing to seriously worry about. If it gets significantly worse, I would take it to a local auto shop and see if they can lessen the noise.

I have the same thing going on with my 2002 cavalier. I replaced wheel bearings with no luck. My tires also wore uneven toe. Going to try alignment. I'm sure it's the same problem as you describe and it's really annoying. Right hand turns remains the same but long left turns will quite the howling. If you find a solution to this.... let me know

The front left wheel makes a howling sound at + 50 mph. When I turn the wheel right sharply, noise stops. Tires are new. This is a half ton Dodge Ram truck.Any suggestions?

wheel bearing is the most likely source of the noise ,and turning the wheel is transfering the weight off of the bearing hence the noise stops

Have a 2004 impala with howling noise from the front?

Here are a couple of things to check for. When driving turn car left and the right to see if noise gets louder then quieter. If so you will need a bearing hub. Also check power steering fluid in pump, if low you will get a howling noise. Looking for a noise is difficult task from a computer. Hope this gives you a starting point.

You probably have a bad hub bearing. If you can change the noise by slightly turning the vehicle one way or the other it is a hub bearing. If you turn left and the noise is still there then it is the right front bearing. If you turn right and the noise is still there it is the left side.If it makes the noise both ways it could be both front hubs.Hope this helps.Good luck.

The car makes a howling noise while driving it

well did the noise start after the tires were rotated?could be choppy tires,,,if not ,i strongly think it sounds like a bad wheel bearing,,,,if you drive and while its making the noise turn left and right quick and see if the noise gets louder and which way turning makes it louder,,if you turn leftand it gets louder its usually the right wheels bearing as you are putting load on it, if it makes the noise louder while turning right its the left wheel bearing,,,got it

HOWLING NOISES

Did you check your Transmission fluid and your differential fluids make sure there up and I don't know if you checked your rear wheel bearings or not, You can usually tell a wheel bearing when you are driving the car at highway speeds and you go around a corner and it get quite a bit louder Depending on what way you are turning if your turning right and it gets louder it will usually be the right side front or rear. the left usually the left front or back. some cases I have even heard Axles making a Howling Noise. Please let me know what you come up with. And Thanks in advance If I helped you out any. Bear001
