This is most likely a transmission filter being dirty and it needs to be changed regularly as does the oil in your van. this is inside the transmission and needs to be serviced to complete this job i do not recommend you trying this by your self as you could damage your transmission.

The knock sensor is located under the intake manifold. Not an easy job to change without some experience.

2000 mercury villager problem P0325

Hi Valerie, I'm glad to help!

P0325 is a Knock Sensor or Wiring issue. The best way to know for sure if its in the wiring or computer issue is to first simple replace the "KNOCK SENSOR". Hope this helps and have an awesome day Valerie.

When warm runs rough sets knock sensor code will hardly idle turn front cat cherry red car sat for a year put new gas in it when cold runs great

If the cat is cherry red as you say it is I would check the firing order or timing they may have crossed plug wires this will cause the exhaust manifolds to get red hot and glow let me know if this heled you and good luck.It definitely sound to be timing related or crossed wires.

do not change the knock sensor.

sounds like cam sensor in distributor is going. works cold fine, then as engine warms upo it starts going. is tach needle jumping too?

Buy reman rich porter on ebay for $200. sensor inside is not serviceable. common issue on 99-00.

Where is a knock sensor for 2000 mercury villager located?

It is under the lower intake manifold in the valley of the engine. You must remove the cross over coolant tube to gain access to the knock sensor. It bolts into the cylinder head. Good luck

start by checking manifold vacuum at idle 18-21"

then run the idle up to 2000 and watch the vacuum gauge. if it starts to drop you have an exhaust restriction which could be by the cat but not likely

honestly, get to the knock sensor and disconnect it and retest

Could be cam sensor, crank sensor, PCM going bad. On these newer vehicles with all the electronics it is hard to pinpoint what it is till the check engine light does come on for it. I would suspect one of the 3 going bad though.
