Question about 1998 Ford Explorer
I CAN'T OPEN MY HOOD BECAUSE THE CABLE IS BROKEN.HOW DO I GO ABOUT RELEASING THE LATCHES?
DROP THE RELEASE HANDLE BRACKET DOWN INSIDE THE TRUCK AND USE A PAIR OF VISE GRIPS TO GRASP THE STUB OF OF THE BROKEN CABLE, THIS WILL USUALLY RELEASE THE HOOD LATCH, IF THAT DOESN'T WORK YOU MUST GO UNDER THE TRUCK AND REACH THE HOOD LATCH THAT WAY, VERY TOUGH WITHOUT A CAR LIFT.

if you can see where the cable is broken... cut some of the insulation away from the cable, use 2 pairs of pliers... 1 pair on the insulated part of the cable and 1 pair on the cable itself- pull opposite ways and u should have it. hope this helps and good luck
