Describe your 2003 Chrysler Town & Country Problem - Recently I have been smelling fuel coming through the a/c vents. I just had the air conditioning system completely redone (expensive) and now I smell gas every so often... instances of smelling gas increase slightly this week. I recently traveled across the country and back and I though maybe I just got bad fuel somewhere. Please help!

My wife kept smelling raw gas but i couldn't. problem was a tiny hole in the FRONT of the gas tank. i then remembered hitting something in the road some time back. insurance replaced it with a used tank. this hole was visible as a wet area around the hole. the hole it's self was so small you could hardly see it.just a possibility.......ray

check the fuel filter connections first. If all ok, have a mechanic check it. If there is an evaporative leak, the check engine light should be on.

Some of these use the vacuum to operate the flaps that direct the air, check for the small black pipe that comes from the top of the motor.

HAVE SOMEONE EXTRACT THE CODE FROM THE CAR'S COMPUTER. IF THERE IS A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON THEN THE PCM HAS A CODE STORED ON IT. IT SOUNDS TO ME LIKE A THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR, BUT JUST CHECK THE CODE TO BE SURE. SOME OF THESE CAN ALSO HAVE A BAD IDLE AIR CONTROL VALVE. I HOPE THIS HELPS YOU TO FIND THE PROBLEM. PLEASE KEEP ME POSTED, THANKS FOR USING FIX-YA. GOOD LUCK
