I have a 1995 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP 3.4L DOHC....... The engine is over heating (yes it has coolant in it).... and I had noticed a leak in the coolant so we replaced the radiator (which had a hole in it)...

Maybe a backflushing of the cooling system can help to make it cool more efficiently.

Sediment can build up in the cooling system causing a lack of flow of coolant.

Also, the thermostat could be stuck closed, as others have suggested.

Cooling fan will not come on what can i check to fix this problem this is on a 1995 grand am 3.1 litre i also have a problem with the horn it wont work and the fuse is good.

The horn maybe a horn relay,or a bad horn,or the horn button .The cooling fans, check to see if they will come on with the ac on,if not, check the fuses, and the cooling fan relays,if the cooling fans come on with the ac,then change the coolant sensor.

3.1 L Grand Prix-cooling fan won't kick on, new fan motor-all fuses OK-temp when driving cools OK with AC fan on. Where are the relays ?

probably not a relay, check the coolant temp sensor to make sue its reading ok,if its misreading it will not tell the computer to turn the fan on

WHAT IS THE NORMAL TEMP RANGE FOR A 1995 GRAN PRIX 3.4 LITER

Mine usually runs right smack in the middle. If it's middle or under you are fine. If it's over half way, then you need to change your thermostat, or you cooling fan isn't kicking on when it should. There is a temp sensor that controls the fan.

Cooling fan wont kick in

Could be the FAN MOTOR, COOLING FAN TURN ON SENSOR, even the PCM. There are 2 fuses . Also check fuse panel under hood in engine compartment

One fan does not come on on 1995 pontiac transport

One fan of two on radiator? Turn on A/C unit and see if it comes on. Fan backs up the oher when A/C is used and helps remove added heat. If it doesn't come on don't try to help it. Injury hazard if fan kicks on. Good Luck

Cooling fan

there are relays not just fuses for the cooling fan. look under the hood there should be a black junction box open it and you will see several little black cubes those are relays. if you have the owners manual they will show what each one is for. start the vehicle and let it get to operating temp 180-190 degrees your fans normally kick on at this point what i normally do is take the relay for the a/c clutch and swap it for the radiator cooling fan if the fans kick on you know it was the relay. if they don't kick on then you know that the temp sensor on the radiator is bad., but before you go replacing anything make sure that there are no loose or missing wires. that all mplug connections are tight and not coroded and that with the engine off that the fan blades spin freely. once checking everything and you still have an issue then the fans are bad and need to replace it.. please rate this thanks
