Hi I am Vortash behind the radio in the car there is a bank of relays one green one that controls the fuel pumps it also controls one pump that is actually in the rear tank and helps the fuel out the tank as the car is so long .. if these are not working odds are this relay is at fault ,, advise you get a Haynes manual and it will explain all in the troubleshooting guide .. another problem these cars are famous for is none start after standing overnight .. the fuel washes away the oil in the top of the cylinder head and stops compression removal of the plugs and a shot of oil in each one gets the car going again then replace the oil with a good grade synthetic and that will cure this problem ... regards Vortash

Check fuel pump fuse and relay.it is in fuse box behind ash tray.relay will be furthest to left on the second row.if fuse and relay is good.you have a faulty fuel pump.

New fuel pump and still wont start

do you hear fuel pump operation if yes replace fuel filter.if you dont hear fuel pump running could have open short in fuel pump harness or could have faulty fuel pump relay faulty automatic shut down relay, fuse or PCM.if fuel system okay check for spark at spark plugs no spark could have faulty ignition coil, camshaft sensor or crankshaft position sensor.

My husband turned off our 2000 silhouette at a school to get out and when he came back it wont start it tries to but just wont we changed the fuel filter and the fuel pump relay and i really dont want to...

If you dont know what the fuel pressure is, dont guess. Buy a $20 fuel pressure gauge and hook it to the fuel injector rail and see what fuel pressure you have 35-40 psi. Do you hear the fuel pump run? it should run for 2 seconds when you turn the key on. Do this first,Sometimes....... you can get to pump to run a while longer if you rap on th tank while someone is cranking, that may get it to run long enough to get to a repair shop.

Car wont start was running fine now just wont start 2000 chrysler concorde. it seems like it wants to fire but not getting fuel or something

i would turn on the ignition while listening under the back of the car and you should hear a buzzing from the fuel pump. if you dont hear it then either your fuel pump is bad or you blew a fuse or sometimes you can trip the fuel safety shut of switch that should be located in owners manuel

Best suggestion would be to put a fuel pressure gauge on and and see what the fuel pressure reads when cycling the key off and on pressure should be 37 to 43 any less then this suspect the fuel pump or an electrical connection to pump. When it acts up and you can not hear the pump running try tapping on the fuel tank.If vehicle starts after that suspect the fuel pump.

My car wont start its a oldsmobile alero 1999

if car wont start.make sure your battery volts are 12.5.if not charge battery.or replace it if dont hold a charge.if battery is good engine wont turn over.make sure battery cables is clean and tight if all good no start .have starter and starter solenoid check.if battery and starter is good.check for fuel .has some one turn ignition to the on position.go to rear of car listen for fuel pump noise.if your hear fuel pump check ignition system for spark.go to auto parts place buy a spark tester.if you get no spark .check .ignition fuses and ignition module.if you hear no fuel pump.replace relay or fuse.if if fuse and relay good replace fuel pump.if every thing good .your car could have crank sensor problem. or your car is in theft deterrant mode.if so have your car towed in and scanned.

02 camaro wont start fuel pump relay or fuel pump ? How to tell ? The car started right up then died & wont start ! I dont hear the noise from fuel pump when I turn key !!

Take the fuel line off before the filter and turn the key on and see if you get any fuel out of the line. If you don't get any fuel unplug the wire connector to the fuel pump turn the key on and see if you get a hot wire going to the pump. if you get a hot wire then it is your pump. If you do not get any hot wire then it should be the relay.
