Trade that relay with another and see if it works. If so get another.

SOURCE: Chev Cavalier 2003 only one rear turn/brake/hazard light

I have a 2002 Chev Cavalier that had the same exact problem. I replaced the bulb harness (purchased from a chevy dealership for around $5) which was fairly easy to do. I have had zero problems with it since.

SOURCE: no brake/hazard lights,have running/turn signal lights

Suggest you change hazard flasher 'can' first, then go to the hazard switch. I'm betting it's the flasher can.

SOURCE: 98 Chevy pickup brake lights just stopped working

have you tried to find the brake pedal switch? follow the brake pedal under the dash and there should be a switch that the brake pedal presses to activate the lights when you push it in . if everything else has been checked then I suspect that the switch has moved enough to not work or it may be just bad. let me know if this was it.... hope this works

SOURCE: 1996 Chev Silverado K3500 dually, no brake lights

The chevys with red brake lights and turn signals do two things and I've fixeds alot of them. Looking at the tail lights with the hazard flashers on. both sides flash with nothingeles on? Or are the hazards yellow? if they're red and the third eye does work the turn signal switch is possible problem but it doesn't let the blubs and the circuit boards in the taillights out as they can fail and do some really bad stories the wires for the brakes and the turns and the hazards are the same ones and if the turns look right and the hazards look right then the turn signal switch transmites the turn too as this doesn't work part of your story can't be true

My heater has a tapping when you turn on the ignition switch from lower passenger side. it doesns change with the fan speed but stops for a moment when the fresh/recirculation button is pushed

Try to replace the relay for the recirulation/fresh blower. I have a 1991 Chev PU and the relays are behind and below the glovebox compartment.

The brake lights are always on and they drain my baterry and i need to jump start my car every single morning

either your brake light switch is stuck or your relay is shorted. See if you can find the relay in the engine compartment relay box. Pull the relay out and then push it back in. The lights should go out and come back on--but does the relay click when you do this? If yes, the problem is the switch above the brake pedal. If no, swap the relay with another similar one--do the lights stay off now when you push a different relay in? If they do, the original relay was shorted. OK?

If you tell me your model and year, I may be able to give you more specifics.

My brake lights dont work and i am trying to find the fuse box

The fuse block that contains the brake light relay is under the left side of the rear seat. There is also
a fuse block under the right side of the rear seat. Another behind the dash under the steering column. And one more under the hood right front corner of the engine compartment. If the relay is
good, check the brake light switch for constant 12v in and 12v out when peddle is pushed.
The brake light switch is under the dash at the top of the brake peddle. Hope this helps.

The brake lights do not, however the 3rd brake light turn signals work

check brake lights relay--probably in engine compartment fuse box.

Please see my tip at http://www.fixya.com/cars/r6053280-lights_out_lights_not_out_bulbs_ok and let me know if you have questions.

When you press the brake and release the pedal, the break light stays on. Can you tell me what part do I need to fix the problem?

2 different parts to check. First, find the switch that is touching the arm that holds your brake pedal. This is your brake switch. Pull the connector off the switch. If the brake lights go out, the switch is the problem. Make sure it is adjusted so that the pedal pushes in the switch when you let off the brake. If it does, then the switch is not closing properly and should be replaced. If the pedal arm is not pushing the button in on the switch, try to adjust it so that it does, or get some help adjusting it.
Now, if your switch is OK, but the brake lights are still on, find the brake light relay in the engine compartment fusebox. Pull out the relay and see if the light go out. If yes, the relay is stuck closed or shorted. Replace the relay. Any questions, please let us know.

All of the interior lights in my 2001 Suburban 1500 LS including dome, map, glove compartment and cargo compartment lights are out. Opening any door or using the manual switch results are the same. The...

more than likely it is the headlight switch. All of the lights work off from it. My dads 97 chev would shut off all the lights after shutting the door. Then you would come back later and the interor lights would be on again and run the battery down.

98 olds bravada brake lights not working

Check the brake light switch under the dash where your break peddle arm rest against when it's not pushed down. Also there is a relay in the glove box, you'll see a panel in the glove box that say relays. There are three relays in there, one for the A/C , the fuel pump and brake  light. I believe the fuel pump is the middle, i can not remember which side is the brake light relay is but if you turn on the a/c while the engine is running you may hear and feel which relay is the a/c when the compressor kicks in.
Good luck and keep me posted.
