Most likely 1 of 2 problems:

  1. Bad battery won't accept a charge
  2. Worn serpentine belt, belt is slipping and not fully charging the batter

My 2003 Denali won't start I turn the key and just get a fast clicking noise good battery new starter and all power works

Where's the clicking noise coming from ? Under the dash , under the hood in the engine compartment ? Do starter circuit voltage drop test ! When the key is in start position is there constant B+ voltage at the 10 amp crank fuse in the under hood fuse box ? This is an input to the PCM - engine computer to energize the starter relay ! Starter Voltage Drop The battery is good , starter is new ,what about the cables ? watch this video on testing starter circuit !

2002 yukon airbag light on after airbag fuse removed for a couple of years

You know now that pulling the fuse does not turn the light off. The only way to kill the light is fix the problem or pull the bulb.

2003 yukon will not turn over. When I turn the key all the dash lights come on. It started doing this about 6 months ago. It would usually start after 2 or 3 tries or if i put in nuetral and let roll a few...

It could be the starter has a dead spot, the battery voltage is weak, the ignition switch itself, the antitheft passkey or the neutral safety switch..it could also be a bad brake switch. The shift /start interlock is connected to the brake switch...
troubleshooting..... 1) put a test light on the small wire on the starter and see if it lights when attempting to start.if it has 12v or the test light is bright,,but will not crank, tap the starter gently with a plastic hammer,if it cranks the starter is bad.2) make sure the security light is going out.If not it is not reading the passkey and the ignition is faulty.3)when it does not start, jumper with a good battery and see if it starts if it does the battery voltage is low.4) make sure the brake lights go on with every application of the brake pedal.5)try to start in neutral instead of park when the failure occurs,if it does...the neutral safety switch is no good.
best of luck

2002 Ford Focus, driving down road, airbag light comes on, dashlights go out, engine runs rough then quits. Restarts, goes one block, quits again.

Symptoms of a charging system problem. The charging system comprises the alternator, battery and associated wiring. If the alternator should fail to produce a sufficient or stable enough voltage for the car's electronic systems - due to a wiring short, faulty voltage regulator, or corroded electrical connector, for example - the car will run off the "reserve" in the battery for a short time until the battery is eventually depleted. (The battery itself could also contribute to the problem if it has a faulty cell or for some reason is causing the alternator to put out an excessively high voltage in an attempt to compensate.)

So a couple of quick checks: Measure the battery voltage with the car off. Yours sounds like it will be dead; the clicking while attempting to start is the starter relay not getting enough juice. Then the question becomes: Is the battery dead because of age (fails to hold a charge) or because the alternator isn't charging it? To answer this question, measure the voltage at the battery with the car running. (Jump it or substitute a known good 12V battery.) You should see 14+V. If you only see 12V or less, you're seeing only the current battery charge without any contribution from the alt.

Finally, don't assume because the alt isn't putting out anything the alt is at fault. The wiring harness and electrical connector to the back of the alt should be thoroughly examined. (The wiring connector is a known failure point on early models.) The wiring harness should obviously show no signs of burning, melting or chafing and the battery terminals should be corrosion free and tight. If the harness checks out, remove the alt and have it bench tested. Rebuilding usually gives better long term reliability than chain store bought reman units, I'm told.

Long story short, I suspect the voltage regulator in your alternator failed, the battery gave it's all trying to keep your car running, finally gave up and now you have a dead alt and a dead battery. Don't just install a new battery without doing the alternator voltage output tests.

If you're really lucky it could be as simple as loose or corroded battery terminals.

Hi! I have a gmc Yukon xl that recently the battery light has come on and it reads battery not charging. The car starts fine and runs well, does that happen when the alternator I going out?...

That is correct! Your alternator isnt putting out the necessary voltage/amperage to keep the battery light off.

Have the vehicles charging system checked at a local parts store. They can also do a free load test on the battery. Just to be sure.

Check all grounds ie motor to body ground strap connections for corossion, battery to motor ground, battery to body ground. You have to check under bolt to see if there is coeossion. Bad grounding can cause all sorts of electrical problems

If battery is 3 years old in GMC Yukon XL would it slowly go dead by dying quickly if doors are left open, etc.? Or is that sign of bad alternator?

if doors left open for an extended period of time interior lights will kill battery have battery tested sum auto stores can do a load test and condition check of battery while in car sum do it for free most auto stores can test alternator also but most will bench test(with alt out of vehicle)

Batt or alt?

The battery won't just quit so suddenly, you'll know when it's almost dead, so it could be the alternator. If you can get the car started, check the voltage on the battery while the car is running, if it's below 12.8 - 13 volts, then the alternator isn't charging and it may need replacement, or repair. Good luck!
