Part of the system is not working properly. Take it to the dealer (may be under warentee) they should be able to diagnose it quickly with a scan tool.

Where is the shift lock release/override button on the FORD EDGE 2010?

If your shift lever selector is loose most likely the shifter tube is cracked and the tab that presses in the shift interlock is not being depressed because the tube is separated or the bushings that hold it in place on the steering column are severely worn or the brackets are broke this happens from trying to get the vehicle out of park without stepping on the brake and forcing the shifter also check your brake lights for functionality if the fuse or bulbs are out you won't be able to get it out of park also the brake light switch at the peddle this what I think your problem is one of these issues and I hope this helps you go to ford parts .comte look up your part if the shifter is wiggling around so you can see it in a picture otherwise advance ,autozone etc.will be cheaper good luck stephen

2013 Ford Edge, none of the rear parking sensors are clicking when in reverse, does that mean the module is bad? Where is the module located? Thank you

No that doesn't mean the module is bad , taking to a qualified repair shop that has a scan tool that can check for codes in the park assist module is what you should do. Before replacing parts that may or may not fix the problem .

Have the RSS module checked for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble code's . That should always be the first step . An it is
Reverse sensing system Parking Aid The parking aid system consists of the:

  • parking aid module
The parking aid system is activated when the parking aid module receives a network messages from the instrument cluster indicating that the vehicle is in reverse. The parking aid system sounds a warning to alert the driver of stationary objects near the rear bumper when REVERSE is selected. The parking aid system assists the driver in detecting certain objects while the vehicle moves in reverse at speeds less than 4.8 km/h (3 mph).
