What is the purpose of coolant sensor for cars

The coolant sensor tells the computer the temperature of the coolant, so the computer knows whether engine is cold or hot.

The MAF sensor measures the amount of air going into engine, so the computer will know how much gas to add through the injectors.

Where is the computer on a dodge charger, and if it has a different computer from factory, does it affects the alarm or starting system on vehicle

I dont know, but common placement of the computer in cars, is done in two parts often with part A being in the front left and part B being in the front right of the bonnet often fixed to the side in this config. If not you might try looking for them on the back wall of the bonnet.

Depending on the layout of the car and I don't know much about cars, I have just seen inside them many times, and taken two apart, I can name parts in a car and I know what parts in a car do but thats about as as as I go with car mechanics, you may have to take the engine out of the bonnet to access the computer. This depends on how the engine is mounted. If it is mounted on the back wall of the bonnet than yes it needs to be removed to access the computer, If it is mounted underneath the car than its not necessary.

PUT NEW DASH CLOCKS NOW CAR WONT START

It all depends on the car but in most cases if the car is new or from the year 2003, it can be the computer reads a error because the clocks are not original for this car. The best is to attach your old clocks and try again. If the car starts, you know its the clocks. The best is when you replace clocks is to replace the computer or get someone to check the computer and maybe set it but in many cases it might not work. I dont know if this helps but it happend to my audi a8 and I had to replace the whole dash and I had to buy a new computer aswell.

How do you replace the computer? The car runs iratic at low rpms with no power. I was told the computer is no good and want to replace it myself. Also do you know where I can get a good used one.

You won't be able to do that job. While you could switch computers, you need to know if it is necessary and have the new one flashed, for your vehicle, and any other issues taken care of,so the car works correctly

WHAT ARE THE SIGNS OF A BAD CAR COMPUTER

The only way to condem a computer is by testing every component related to your problem. Then test the ground and power to the computer. Then clean every engine and body ground/ Then test for proper reference voltage and ground to the sensors. Then look at the compuer data and see if it reads the same as when you tested at the sensor. Then check the resistance in the signal wire if something is not the same. If 0ohms resistance then you prabably have a defective computer. Remember any system in a computer can become defective. You need to know what info is correctly making it to the computer and then what output control the computer is suppose to command. This is what you test. If you know the info is being delivered, then you test the output control at the pcm for the proper command., easy huh, lol

Check engine light is on

mcdevito75 here, The check engine light is connected to your cars computer and the computer monitors the engines functions, air fuel ratio, speed, idle, spark etc. when the check engine light comes on, it"s a signal 1 or more of these sensors is not sending correct info to the computer, it could aslso signal 1 or more of the motors the computer controls to run your engine is out of whack, lucily the manufacturers know this and usually the car can be driven fore a short while, but you fisk break down also but un-likeky. Still have your shop run a scan on your cars computer system,

Computer??

The easiest is most likely unplug the battery from your car. than turn on your lights to drain residual energy from the system. Leave it for 24 hours. That should reset your computer too.
