How can you plug the rear driveline on 1991 blazer so that i can drive it in front wheel drie only

You could remove the rear drive shaft but transmission fluid would leak out if you started to drive it on the road you could do this for a test olny . And would not recomend driveing the vehicle off the front wheels olny they are not designed to run on dry pavement the front carrier wouldn't last vary long if you could stop the oil from leaking out of the back of the transmission with out the drive shaft What you need to do is pick up a rear carrier from a junk yard and fix the rear wheels Good luck with it

Notice on driveway tranmission fluid leaking check t f top off also first gear hard shift took to DOBBS HAD CHECK OUT WAS TOLD tranmission seal on back side was leaking bad also oil pan gasket leaking...

u get a second look your self by looking at the transmission u dont have to take anything apart to find the leak the oil pan is easy so check that one first if u see any fluid on or around the pan then the seal is shot that dont mean the tranny will burn up, just keep an eye on the fluid level second the rear transmission seal is located at the back of the tranny where the rear drive shaft slips into the transmission if you notice fluid around there and on the drive shaft thats leaking also but like i said just because u have a few minor leaks dont mean the tranny will blow up just as long as you keep an eye on the fluid level. do your home work and find a good transmission shop that will gaureentee the there work at a decent price.

The transmission is leaking in front and middle of the engine. What is the problem and how can I fix it

could be your gearbox seals.Check if the front one is gearbox oil or engine oil.If it is engine oil then could be your rocker cover seals..oil from the top travelling down, sump gaskits or crank shaft seals. The direction of travels pushes oil towards the rear and sometimes we think that the leak is on the rear somewhere whereas it could be in the front.

Leaking fluid from rear end

hello, fluid leaking out of rear end is probably the pinion shaft seal, its were the drive shaft hooks to the rearend, you have to drop drive shaft, take yoke off rearend, or if it is,more further towards the back, were wheels are, then you need axle shaft seal, you have one on both sides on the rearend, behind the drums, where the back brakes are, also look and see if its coming from back of transmission, where drive shaft goes into the transmission, see if you can tell what color fluid is, if its red, its probably rear transmission seal, where drive shaft goes into the transmission.

Aerostar transmission leaks

Depending on where the leaks are comming from determins the course of action that nees to be taken. If the leak is on the rear output shaft for the drive shaft, the seal can be replaced by removing the shaft and pulling out the seal. This is a relativly simple repair. If the leak is between the motor and transmission, it would be the torque converter seal and this requires the removal of the transission. If it is leaking from the side of the transmission, the transmission needs to be removed and taken apart by a professional. Check your transmission cooler lines. These can seep and the oil will run down the outside of the tube to a low spot and drip far away from the source.

1984 F150 302 Had oil pan gasket and both valve cover gaskets

you have several points to check!
the dip stick tube has a "O" ring seal at the bottom where it fits to tranny.
a reverse switch on tranny & the shifters selector shaft has a seal that may be leaking !
there are the cooler pipes from cooler to tranny [in & out] plus pump seal to the torque converter [leaks out between engine & tranny bellhousing] & then there are the drive shaft or shafts seals
so wipe it all clean & park it in a diffrent clean spot!
some will only leak when its runnung due to tranny,s internal pressure!

Automatic transmission leaks on my 2000 Rodeo 4wheel drive Any help? Please

If you have never serviced the transmission, it just may be time to have the transmission fluid and filter to be replaced if the transmission fluid is leaking from the transmission pan. If it's leaking from the rear of the transmission where the drive shaft goes in to, then it's the rear seal from the transfer case and the seal needs to be replaced and the transfer case topped off with fluid. If the fluid is leaking from the front of the transmission where the engine connects to the transmission than it's a good chance that it's the torque converter or front pump main seal. The other place that it could be leaking from is the transmission oil lines from the transmission to the cool at the radiator. Please let me know if it's leaks worst when the engine is running or only when your parked for a few hours. Keep me posted, be glad to help.

My 1986 toyota cressida leaks transmistion fluid out bottom of car where drive line connects to transmisson the transmission is fine how do i fix it

Based on your description I am going to assume your leak is @ the rear of the transmission. If so, the leak would most likely be from the transmission output seal. To fix, you will have to remove the drive-shaft by unbolting it from the rear axle and sliding it rearward out of the transmission. Once the shaft is out of the way, you will need to remove the seal by inserting a pry bar or large screwdriver between the transmission output shaft and the seal lip and pop it out. Sometimes you may have to partially collapse the steel shell inward towards the center with a small chisel and hammer to releive the press fit. Drive the new seal into the bore and reinstall the driveshaft. Check fluid, road test and check for leaks after the road test.

Oil leak

The Drive Shaft?! If it is the Drive Shaft it is an Easy Fix. You will need to Remove the Drive Shaft and Replace the Seal that is at the Very Rear of the Tranny. Check the Tranny Fluid. Tranny fluid should be your Leak. The Fluid is Red Right?
