See if this helps. Someone on LXforums had the same problem with their 300. This solution worked for me as I had the same problem as you with my Chrylser Sebring 2007.

How to I repair my shift gears on my Chrysler 2007 Sebring? It's stuck in park.

I assume this is a floor shift, remove shifter knob, pry the trim around the shifter up to remove to get to the 2 screws there, in the storage compartment there may be 4 screws, pull Ebrake up as far as you can then rear of console upward over ebrake handle then back, remember you have to reverse what you just did to put it back together. If your after the shift cable try to pop it off the trans first to see if it can be moved out of park at the trans if so more likely is the cable if not you may have internal trans problem.

2007 Chrysler Sebring will not shift out of park. We apply the brakes, but it still will not shift.

can you hear a slight click when applying brake?? if not interlock safty switch is bad, if so then best idea is something in shifter housing blocking it. OR cable issue

My 2007 seabring won't shift out of park... Car

The car is probably on a steep hill and a lot of pressure is on the park pawl in the automatic transmission. If this is the case, a hard sudden pull should release it. Make sure the brake is on. When parking on a hill in the future use the parking brake before placing the lever in park.

Chrysler sebring is locked in park

Had this happen to me yesterday.  Remove the liner in the cup holder.  There is a hole that you can stick your finger in to push the gear release lever forward.  If that does not work, pull up the chrome bezel around the gear shift.  there is a pink piece of plastic attached to a spring, push that down and towards the rear of the car and you should be able to shift freely until you put it in park again.  Make sure the car is running and your foot is on the brake while trying either solution.

Will not shift from park

I am not familliar with this car, but on older cars and trucks there is a switch on the lower part of the steering column by the fire wall, that works off of the brake pedal. When you push your brake it releases and lets the car shift into gear. If the shifter is in the floor instead of the column there may also be a switch or lever underneath the center console cover that might have malfunctioned. Either one may have to be replaced. Like I said I am not familiar with your car, it may be all electronic. Hope you get the answer. Good Luck

My Chrysler Sebring won't shift out of park

there is a spring on the left side of the shifter which has probably broken off it a common problem with a no cost fix as long you can find the spring. the spring attachs to the black case of the shifter and the other end goes to a pink plastic pivot to the interlock. drill a small hole in the pink upper pivot to reattach the spring. your spring would have shot off toward the back of the car inside the console check at the carpet's edge.the spring has a green protective band and is about an inch long ---to get the console out 4-- 10mm bolts at rear inside the back console compartment and 2--10mm bolts behind the a/c controls. the a/c control bezel and the upper bezel do not have screws but push in place--top bezel pulls straight out while the lower has to be pulled down and out to remove

2007 chrysler sebring stuck in park, tried to release safety switch but will not release, any other advice?

IS the car parked on a hill? If so you have to relieve the pressure on the trans. The pressure can be strong enough to prevent the shifter from moving. Also the shift cable could be bad.

2007 sebring will not shift out of park, what should I do?

I do not have the data for this model but I will try to give some general idea. There is a shift lock solenoid under shifter assembly. The shifter will not shift unless the brake is depress and the key is on. A module or computer recognizes this info and activate solenoid. Easy step is to check all fuses first.
