Question about 2003 Volkswagen Passat
I have a 2003 passat. my doors will not open with the remote. And my car will not start. I have to disconnect the battery and then reconnect it. Then it will start right up. after that i can lock the doors using the remote. but if i leave it and come back a few minutes later, it does the same thing again. Why is it not starting. i thought at first that it was the anti-theft or the battery, but the radio and everything works. you can put it in gear. What is making it do this?
The vehicle has a built in security system, the doors need to be unlocked with the remote before you can start the vehicle, the likely reason it starts is when you pull the battery cable it resets the whole system, and will start before you give it time to engage again.
