For a 2003 auto tranny - use T-IV.
The dipstick has the marking as well as the owner's manual.

This is not a Mercon or Dextron.

SOURCE: Ive got a 1995 nissan sentra xe 1.6 with a

Dexron 11 went out of production about 1992

If you have to add, common sense tells you
that it is leaking, work on that issue

The brand don't matte,r but the specification does
I would put that question into your search engine
and also check with a dealer,as the current dex is not good
for your vehicle, only the latest GM veh. The Dex/Merc maybe, but the Multi Vehicle
may also be for Asian Vehicles.
Trying to help, but the exact spec I don't know
Also any trans repair shop will happily tell you

When it is low to the first mark you need one US quart. The engine requires 5W-30W oil.

I have a 1992 BMW 525 I manual transmission what kind of fluid do I put in the ATF oil only reservoir?

You should be able to use most Automatic Transmission Fluids (ATF), although if you have a manual shift car, then there is no ATF.
Check the fluid level careful if you do have an ATF container, since it is very rare that you would lose fluid from the transmission.

What kind of auto trans fluid

The 2003 Sunfire has been updated from Dexron II or III to Dexron VI per a Technical Service Bulletin from GM.

Automatic Transmission, 4T40-E Initial Fill..........6.5 liters
Automatic Transmission, Total Fill 4 speed 4T40-E..........12.2 liters

Good luck and hope this helps, if you do use Synthetic transmission oil, make sure it's a Low Viscosity Synthetic Transmission oil. High viscosity transmission oil will cause the gear shifting to stick and will cause shifting issues.

Thank you for using fixya and good luck.

I need to do oil changes for both my engine and transmission. What kind of oil should I get for my transmission? I don't have the owners manual so I have no idea.

The type of oil should be rigt on the oil cap..
If not - should be 5W-30

Trani fluid..
THIS IS A IMPORTANT and very misunderstood issue.

You should really visit http://www.allpar.com/fix/trans.html

if you have a four-speed or five-speed Chrysler automatic. Even most three-speed
automatics are required to use ATF+4.
