The fuel pump is not on just on a fuse its also on a Relay.

The plymouth is often plagued with ASD relay issues. (Auto Shut Down) The relay controls a number of systems, mainly being spark and fuel. Bad grounds to it and corrosion are the main culprits.

The auto shutdown relay interupts power to the electric fuel pump, the fuel injectors, the ignition coil and heated oxygen sensor.

Undoubtedly this is the source of your problem. Be aware also the ASD may shut if there is a problem with the signal from the distributor which in turn shuts off fuel pump.

Hope this helps. Please remember to rate my answer. Many Thanks.

If you are absolutely sure you have no power to the fuel pump - it can only be caused by one of these things

    1) Blown fuse

    2) Broken wiring

    3) Loose/corroded/bad connections or bad earth

    4) Failed ASD

    5) ASD closed through problems further up the line e.g distributor

If these all check out power must be reaching the pump and the diagnoses must be pump failure.

Put 3 fuel pumps in fuel pump and fuse keeps failing

I would disconnect the fuel pump harness at the pump and turn the key on. If the fuse blows, look for damage to the wiring harness and under the hood for any signs of heat to the power distribution box at the fuel pump fuse. Let me know what you find.

1990 3.3L plymouth voyager fuel problem, the van will turn over but isnt getting any fuel....need to either get a relay? or a fuel pump, it looks like there are 2 fuel pumps in the tank? eeeer!

one pump. Check for power to the pump there should be power anytime the engine is cranking or running. If there is no power than you can work your way back through the wiring, relays, fuses. If there is power and there is no fuel pressure than the pump has probably failed.

Your vehicle doesn't have a carburetor. What you poured gas into was the throttle body. Does it stay running once it starts? You really should check the fuel pressure to be sure but not everyone has a gauge. Changing the fuel filter would definitely be a good start. If that doesn't do it, check the fuses for the fuel pump and check the fuel pump relay. If they check out make sure the power is actually getting to the fuel pump, check the ground wire of course also. If you have good power and ground at the pump and no fuel you will have to replace the pump most likely.

No power to fuel pump or to pump fuse at fuse block

You can get wiring diagrams from -- they have parts of repair manuals online. I have the smae problem but the person I got my 88 fox gl from wired up a switch going to the fuel pump that you have to leave on while driving. I"m probably giong to fix this soon. It looks like the wire powering the fuel pump relay comes from the ignition switch. So if the pump side of the relay is good, but aren't getting power, you may want to see if your ignition switch isn't providing power on one wire, going to the fuel pump relay.

1990 Plymouth Acclaim won't start.

Check your battery terminal connections first. The starter draws much more current than your accessory panel and a loose connection at the battery is a good place to start. Corrosion at the terminals can be a problem also. Post your results from this test and we'l go from there.
