1999 mazda 626 V6. How do you replace a thermostat

Easiest to download the manual from here and find the section in the manuasl on "Cooling system"

But basically, you just remove the bottom radiator hose, then remove the thermostat housing that the bottom hose attaches to on the engine and remove the thermostat and replace with the new one, taking care to align the new one correctly as per the manual.

Where is the thermostat located on a 2000 mazda 626 2.0L

The thermostat on the 2.0 is located on the right front of the engine. It is in the thermostat housing at the engine end of the lower radiator hose. According to the auto parts stores, there is a square thermostat gasket required, however, this is not correct. On the actual thermostat, there is just a rubber gasket that goes around the thermostat itself.

Where is the thermostat located in 1999 Mazda 626? (I see both hoses not sure if its bottom or top hose?)

Near the top hose. You have to remove some type of housing to get to the thermostat.

Okay, so now where is the thermostat located? How

The thermostat is in a bubble-type housing at the end of one of the two radiator hoses where they attach to the engine block.

Generally this is a simple job, but sometimes crowded engine components make it difficult to access.

The upper radiator hose runs into the thermostat housing. Remove the front of the housing and you will find the thermostat.

Need to know how to change my thermostat on a 2002 mazda 626

The thermostat on the 2002 Mazda 626 2.5 liter V6 is located at the opposite end of the lower radiator hose (near the block). It is nestled between the air-cleaner assembly and the intake manifold (on the driver side). You have to first remove the air-cleaner housing (The top half has several things attached to it; you don't have to completely remove the top half - just sort of move it aside after it hans been unencumbered; the bottom half must be completely removed as this is the area you will be working in.) The thermostat housings' top half can then be ubolted from the bottom half but you can not remove it or pull it aside to gain access to the actual thermostat until you unbolt the ignition coil pack. Mazda uses a strange metal sleeve to protect the lower radiator hose (I assume that's what it's for). There are three bolts holding the pack on (if I remember correctly, two of them hold the sleeve in place as well). After you free the sleeve you can then move the thermostat housings' top half aside and pull the thermostat out. Good luck putting it all back together - it's sort of like a jigsaw puzzle. BTW this is by far the hardest thermo I've ever had to replace.
