Sounds like the cable mount may have broken or the base mount dislodged-without pulling trim off and having a look we cant be sure-but the clicking is a good sign-meens the motor running ok-my jeep has a similar problem and i got away with very little cost to repair-couple of bits of wire and a couple of tech screws and by resitting the runners that probably have popped out-a bodgey thats lasted 4 years so far
