Question about 2001 Volkswagen Jetta TDI
There is a resistor pack that controls your blower. It's located under your glove box. It's pretty common for this to go bad. The resistor pack blowing could be because the blower fan is also bad. Read these two threads at tdiclub.com. They have all the info you'll need.
Your taillight problem could be related to corrosion in the lamp holders if the fuse isn't the issue.
