Car turn off itself when push brakes

Hi,
I have 2001 chevy metro, drove it for 3 years straight without any problem at all, just sometimes while driving it acts like losing power and acts as bad spark plugs, i had t changed and also the plug wires changed which didn`t fix it but never stopped me from driving because it happened just once in a while. then i bought new car and parked it working and left for one month, after one month i started it, it started fine, then i pushed brake and it turned off itself. Now whenever i push brakes it just turns off and the stick for auto transmission wasn`t coming back from parkng i had to forcefully pull it back into drive. drove it but seemed no power as its gear is stuck at 3rd and doesn`t go above 45mph anyway.if i turn on headlights then it just loses all power and don`t even move forward. plugged in scanner and the error code i giot was related to O2 sensor. please help, no mechanic could figure out where the problem is.

SOURCE: transmition stuck in drive

sounds like shifter cable busted... pop the hood and look at drivers side, have another person move the shifter so you can locate the cable... then find the arm coming off the transmission move it all the way one direction it will be either park or low range and that should get you moving again...

Have the engine checked for vacuum leaks, that will cause a high idle speed. As a 35 year veteran of auto repair I can tell you that engine flushs are a 100% waste of your hard earned money.

How to take off crankshaft pulley on 2001 chevy metro. When I turn center bolt the pulley turns. Is there any other bolts that need to be removed? How do i remove this pulley?

if you have a standard transmission, put it in a high gear and set the parking brake.
If you have an automatic, you might have to remove the starter and lock the starter gear with a screwdriver or vicegrip. Make sense? Also, you may need a puller to get the vibration damper off the crankshaft.

When i turn on my 01 Chevy blazer 4x4 it shift into 4 wheel low drove by itself

I assume since it is doing it by itself that you have the 3 push buttons on the dash to put it into 4wd? If so is the 4L button stuck in so it is constantly trying to put it in 4L. Maybe tap on that button to see if that button will release. If that don't fix the problem, I would imagine you would need to replace that switch?

98 Maxima - Battery and Brake Lights flickering

First off - 125K mi is nothing on that car (as long as you maintain it). The alternator is actually also the voltage regulator and this aspect of the alternator frequently fails before the actual alternator itself does and causes irregular voltage - so it makes sense you drove without the battery connected but you probably were having irregular power instead of a nice steady 14V (the other thing to know is that even if they do show 14V all the time the amperage may differ, both problems = change the alternator).

Can Geo Metro parts be used to fix a Chevrolet Metro?

The hood will be the same, but the bumper will be different: the Geo Metro had its turn signals in the bumper and the Chevy Metro had them in with the headlights. The bumpers also look different, however their mounts may be the same. If your sister wants fer car to look the same you should find a bumper from a 1998-2001 Chevy Metro.
