HOW DO I CHECK GEAR OIL ON 2004 MERCEDES C CLASS KOM ?

The transmission oil has no service interval as far as I know but the fluid allegedly goes out of specification at an average of 100,000 miles, giving the gearbox a probable 150,000 to 200,000 mile life if you are lucky. If, however, you change the synthetic fluid every 80,000 miles or so, you will significantly extend the service life of the box. This is standard practice and proven with local taxi drivers who expect their cars to exceed 300,000 miles with reasonable reliability.
