Begin having intermittent problems with car starting after driving car.Would go to restart and have to wait 2 hours.then car would start.Battery new, alternator, .Replaced starter, car drove fin car drove fine.Parked card the same afternoon, car would not start. No sound heard from cyllanoids like before new starter was placed. All electrical working, battery alterntor stil fineAgain after car sat for 2 hours in 2-3 hours in driveway, placed key ignition car started. Droce for several hours.Got home, parked car, went to start up, same problem keeps coming back.other than that car drive fine, performs well, gas milage great, etc. I did hear a squeaky sound for 1 second when turning over the ignition switch, twice.sound is similar to that made when you turn the ignition switch on once you've started the car and accidentally forgot your car was already in the on position. Is there anything else the mechanic can check, since the starter has been replaced?

Your Ignition Relay Is Faulty.
It is located in the Underhood Fusebox.
Consult your manual or the box lid for the exact location.
Please accept this answer to remove it from the work queue.
You have multiple questions for the same problem.

Sat. 01 sl wait 1/2 hour to start when warm. stalls when ideling 1/2 hr restart

You have a bad air intake manifold gasket. If it runs idling high, take a can of brake cleaner and spray it on the air intake manifold by the firewall. Spray it right where the air intake bolts on. There are 8 10mm bolts or nuts there. When you spray it while idling, the revs will come down. This makes sure that is the problem before you go any farther. My 02 did the same thing. If you need to know how to change it, let me know, I can walk you through it. It's a one to two hour job, b ut easy

My 1998 cadillac Deville will not start - when I start it in the morning it starts fine. if I stop the car and try to restart it will not turn over at all! The radio works and the lights work but the car...

OK, I have this intermittent problem on my 1997 Cadillac Deville. Sometimes, when the engine is hot and sometimes when cold, the starter will click, (solenoid), but the starter will not turn over the engine at all. I have to toggle the ignition switch to the start position and to the ignition position several times to make it work. But, this only occurs intermittently for me, and I have never really gotten stuck more then a few minutes.

The solution, of course, is to replace the starter to get rid of the intermittent problem.

Is the speedometer showing '0' or is it just not displaying any numbers at all?

Good luck on this repair.

Start of day. Engine starts and runs fine. Drive 5 minutes to school. 1 hour later, try to start car. Cranks and cranks. Will not turn over. (Lights: key-in-ignition-position: all lights turn off but check...

There are usually three things that cause this problem. Either 1. your car is intermittenly having the power supply to the ignition interrupted, i.e., loose battery cable or ground, or ignition module, etc 2. your alternator is failing intermittenly, or 3. Your fuel pump is going out. The most common is the fuel pump, especially with your symptoms. The way you test, is, when it won't start, shoot a little fuel into the throttle body, and see if it hits and dies, or hits and keeps going, etc. These things are notoriously intermittent, and of course, you can only troubleshoot something when it's currently not working. As for the alternator, you'll usually have some other warning sign, such as a battery light, or failure of instruments, etc. As for the ignition module, it's more of a remote chance that I included as an option. Hope this helps you out.

Intermittent starting problem

Did you replace ignition leads? What about air intake leaks. Air = fuel. No air = no fuel = no start.

When you replaced the ECM, did you use a nice coating of di-electric grease? That helps distribute the heat from the ecm so it doesn't over heat. Also check your ignition wiring going from the battery to the ignition switch. Check for any loose or broken connections. A local shop can help you find wire shorts BUT BE ADVISED, Most shops charge a $70 an hour fee to diagnose electric problems. Thats not to fix, only find problems. I highly recommend a self search first.

Mazda Tribute Intermittent Starting problem

I can think of 2 possibles,it could be a bad battery cable or an intermitent short in the starter solenoid, check or have the battery cables and there connections on both ends first not only are they a cheaper fix but the problem you describe sounds like a current flow issue.Test them with or have them tested with an ohmmeter they should show o ohms resistance, and while not attributed to the problem I do not reccomend using Bosch spark plugs of any variety, the best plugs for any Japanese vehicle are NGK's,this comes from my personal experience with them and other techs that I have worked with.
