If you smell something burning, not a good sign. I would investigate ASAP, to prevent a potential fire hazard. You could have wires shorting out, grounding out, whatever. DO NOT look at replacing the fuse or relay until you determine the cause of the burning smell.

1987 Toyota Camry. My tail light don’t work. Changed the 20A fuse with a new 20A fuse, but every time I put a new one in it blows the fuse. I put a 25A fuse in and works perfectly fine. Should I trust it...

Adding a larger fuse is the single best way to start your car on fire. Check the ground connections. Check the terminals for corrosion. Fix the problem. Don't torch the vehicle.

Why when I start my car is there an odor coming from vents that smells like something is burning, and my Air Conditioner still blows, but it only blows out hot air. 2008 Chrysler Sebring. Help?

have an accredited ac shop as an ac cannot produce hot air only cold air so that means that the ac is not working (leaks low on gas etc). The hot air is from the heater in the car and the smell is probably wire overheating or the resistors are burning.

Car heater blowing cold air and rubber burnning

If your heater is spraying a light mist through your vents it could be your heater coil. Mine did the same thing, smell rubber burning, then started a light mist through the vents. If you don't get that checked out, it could mess up your water pump and possibly your engine

Why did my 2000 oldsmobile silhoutte front vents stpp blowing air?

The front an rear are two different systems , That why the back still works . The blower motor or the resistor under the glove box or behind burnt up . Your best bet mite be to take your vehicle to a qualified repair shop.

Vt commodore 6cly, have a burning smell from behind dash, think it has something to do with vacuum setup on the knob that changes air flow from windscreen to floor demister etc. how do i get into it to...

My 99 vt had a similar problem but mine was also leaking coolant inside the car.
Just to check it out you should remove the instrument facia, centre console and the side pannels that hide the vacuum pumps then you will be able to scope out exactly what is going on.
Be careful to not misplace any of the screws because the vt's make a hell of a rattle if there is anything slightly loose or missing.

Smell of burning oil out of heater vents

Have you checked under the hood,Mark? The heater commonly pulls outside air thru the vents and can get air coming up from the engine,so I'd look for a smell outside the car, under the hood.Let me know what you find.
You can alleviate it some by using the recycle air button on your heater, but you need to find the source quickly,so you don't have a fire. don-ohio (:^)

A/C will suddenly send out heat. Fiddling with knobs seems to help. What's wrong?

The nut that holds the middle knob has gotten loose and the knob (which is probably loose) has caused a wire behind it to break. I found the fix on the internet with details and pictures and all you need is to take the cover off and solder the broken wire back. I don't know where the website is now but search "toyota highlander blows hot and cold" and you might find it. Good luck. don't let dealership put a new control panel in.

Temperature control knob turns but doesn't change temp.

the heater control valve is visible through the speaker cut-out; it's at the end of the plastic heater control rod, inside the car - not on the other side of the firewall! It's connected to the valve with a plastic "universal joint".

Check that the valve is actually being turned by the rod. The connection might not be good (pulled apart or broken), and or the valve might be stuck.
