A plugged catalytic converter ,or check the inlet hose on the throttle body,if it is loose or cracked, air will get by the airflow meter and overfuel the car.

Believe it or not, low tire pressure will give you really bad gas mileage. It happened on my girlfriends Sunfire. I thought it was a few other things, but when she took it in, the pumped up the tires and we noticed the change right after that! And the air is free! Unless you use a gas station air pump!

Car want crank over

This is Caused by the Fuel Pump. If you remove the Fuel Pump relay and it will try to Crank, You have a Bad Fuel Pump. I do Believe that the Fuel Pump is located inside the Fuel Tank on the Sunfire. Not an easy Repair But, Necessary

How to change spark plugs in a 1998 Pontiac Sunfire GT

Dear Angel Divine, First determine whether you have a 4cyl. or V6 engine, then look at the engine bank/banks for the exhaust manifold and then the intake manifold, The plugs will be either be between the 2 manifolds(center of cylinder head) or between the exhaust manifold tubes. Where is the 1998 Pontiac Sunfire SE fuel filter?

Dear Oilzum, The fuel filter on most cars of that era are back by the fuel tank(where supply line comes out of tank), and usually on the inside of the frame. Find the fuel line from the tank towards the engine and you will find the fuel filter. Most are around 6 inches long and 3 inches around. Call me back if you need more help. quicbric(volvo man)
