Skipps and sputters when I first take off or stop. it seems to be better if I keep putting it in neutral

engine rpm to high
miss aligned lincage

If diesel, it could be dodgy glow plug(s). Had a similar problem with my s40 and new glow plugs solved it!

To start with, you have a throttle body instead of a carburetor.
On that throttle body is a component called an air control valve.
That valve is how the computer controls the idle speed. It should open and close the air flow into the intake manifold as needed.
Is the check engine light on when you are driving ? Have you checked the fuel pressure ?

dirty throttle body, check air filter.

Check the spark plugs for the proper gap (0.044 in) and if the ignition wires are old they might need to be replaced.

IM NOT SURE WHAT THE PROBLEM IS BUT IT'S "NOT" YOUR BOOSTER. IF IT WAS YOUR BRAKES WOULD LACK POWER. MORE PRESSURE WOULD BE REQUIRED. YOU'D FEEL IT IN THE BRAKES IT WOULDN'T MAKE THE CAR SPUTTER IN DRIVE AND NOT IN NEUTRAL. SAVE MONEY IT'S NOT YOUR BOOSTER.

check the air filter today, could be the issue.

try replacing your transmission fluid to ease up the drive, might as well try replacing the sparkplugs for better fuel burning.

Sounds like a vacuum leak, i would check that first

check for a defective PCV valve. cheap repair.
