Jump the car started then disconect the negative from the battery if the car dies then your alternator is no good.but if it dos't then your battery is not holding charge and how old is your battery or check the fuse under the hood see if the fuse for the alternator is good. if you do not know wich one it is just get a tester
and test all the battery by hooking you tester to the negative port and check the fuses. let me know if this helped you thank you www.

No sound on radio but it shows channels. 20amp fuse blown and new on blows when inserted

I assume you already replaced the 100amp fuse. I would say thanks a lot to the person who helped you jump your car and, don't let them touch it again. If the 20amp keeps blowing, you have a short to ground on that circuit, possibly the radio itself. Good luck.

Where is the 100amp fuse for the alternator

Middle fuse in the fuseholder attached to the positive terminal of the battery. It is probably a blue fuse and the cap is marked ALT 100A

Usually blows because someone attached the cables the wrong way round trying to jump start (which is easy to do on the side of a country road in the dark when it's raining) or else put in a new battery and got the terminals the wrong way around (which is pretty hard to do).

Let us know if you find it. If you put a new one in and it blows again, you may have an alternator problem so don't try it again before sorting that out (may even need an alternator).

Replaced mega fuse now wont start

Putting reverse polarity to a battery will do more damage then blowing a fuse. Chances are you could have taken out the ECM and possibly the TCM

When battery was jumped hooked up backards

Whats the question, if the battery didn't blow up it should be fine, unless it blew a 15 amp or higher fuse in your main fuse box and will not start.

Polarity was reversed when jump starting vehicle installed new battery & no power to anything mechanic said fuse got blown. What fuse, where it is located & cost of it.

Hard to say without make, year, and model-but check all fuses in the power distribution box under the hood- ignition, alternator fuse, etc.-all of them, the small ones and the maxi-fuses. All fuses are pretty cheap. If you still have nothing, you may need a wiring diagram to check for fusible links that would be power distributors right off or near the battery. Fusible links work much like a fuse, and most have been replaced by maxi-fuses, but many vehicles have both. If there is a designated main fuse, it should be in the distribution block or box under the hood.

Fuse number 22 keeps blowing after friend jumpstart and blew 100amp fuse

Did he connect the cables wrong? I would have the alternator tested. I've seen bad alternators blow there fuses. If the cables were hooked up backwards, it may have damaged the alternator.
