A hot wire is shorting out to ground.
You'll need to check all the wires running to the brake light bulbs. It could be under the dash, or in the trunk area... Look for areas that could have been subject to abrasion or cuts.
Also check the brake light switch on the brake pedal it could be shorting out as well

Take out the rear lightb assembly and check for rust on the connector.moisture will do that and since rust is iron,it will create a short.put a test light in the fuse spot and the test light will glow bright when the short appears instead of popping fuses.

Where are the fuses for breaking lights

the fuses are in the fuse block under the dash to the right of the steering colume. use a test light and test all the fuses at both ends of the fuse. if they are good check the brake light switch as these sometimes break a wire. using the test light at the brake switch you should have power on one wire all the time and power to the second wire only when the brake pedal is pushed. grab the wires and gently move to see if you have a broken wire.

My 05 sts driver side break ligth dont work

Never push the brake pedal down when the spring brakes are on. If you do, the brakes could be damaged by the combined forces of the springs and the air pressure.

My brake lights don't work. I've changed the bulbs & checked the fuse. any ideas?

You could check the brakelight switch located on the brake pedal linkage. Sometimes they move out of adjustment, sometimes they fail. The ones I've seen are usually plastic and the threads strip off so the jamb nut won't hold the switch in place correctly. It should be round (or at least the part with the mounting nut should be round) with a plug with 2 or 3 wires going into the back and located so that the brake pedal lever moves away from the switch when you push on the pedal. If you deem that it needs to be replaced the switch should be available at most auto parts stores.

I just had my windshield replaced on my f150 lariet. now my break lights are not working. i checked the fuse it is not a burned fuse.

You have a break light switch that is mounted on the upper portion of the brake pedal arm. (Above your feet) It may be out of adjustment. You should feel a slight "click" as you push the pedal with your hand.

Rear break ligths not working, fuse is fine

check if bulb is busted if not check pedal brake switch, sometimes socket connectors were detached or loose or use light tester to check manually from the fuse connection down to the wiring circuit until you reach the tail of your car. let somebody do the brake pedal pushing when checking using the light tester. i don't see any reason if your problem is not solve using these technique

Do not work-windows, radio, ligths in the rear, ligths in the dash.

Sounds like a fuse.

Should be able to check the fuses visually. Look for one that has the small metallic connecter (center of fuse) burned or broken. You can buy a small package of replacements from a part store. Ensuer the package has the correct fuse (there will be a color to the fuse, as well as an amperage printed on the top (i.e., 4A). We have a problem with our 2000 stratus fuse, everytime we push on he brake pedal the fuse blows? What could be the problem?

It sounds like you have whats called "a short to ground" Breaks operate on whats called an open circut, only when you ppress the pedal does it allow the eectricity to flow hence lighting the rear break hights. You have a pinch wire which is grounding the system. Each time you press the pedal it sends the current to that ground shorting the circut and blowing the fuse. Trace the wires in the trunk as best you can and look for any damaged wires(oinched ,stripped, also check the break light socket .
