Will only ldel when not moveing700rpms onceyou start moveing engin idels up to 1400rpms wont idel back down to 700rpms untill vehicle stops moveing why?

Depends on your cars set up but on some engines there is a device either electronic or mechanical that keeps the throttle from decreasing too quickly(inhibits rpms from rapid deceleration) so you don't feel like your car is down shifting while coming to a stop. If it becomes gummed up it will stick causing the problem you are describing. You can usually clean it up with a little dis-assembly and a can of carb cleaner.

The automatic idle control valve may have stopped working or the control module that operates it.

check the check engine light my dodge was doing that 2 sum bout the cooling system dont knw 2 much bout cars but it dont do it knw just when i drive it bout 45 mins and cut it off it wont started back up for about 45 min

does thr engine rev upwhen started than idels back down.try idel control switch and map sensor

the idel control vale may need cleaning it is on the intake of air and has a 2 wired plug on it. take it off and give it a good clean and before putting back on use some wd40 or impact spray on the moving parts. should fix the problem.

Your describing a vacume leak or a mis adjusted throttle body. Does it ever idel down? What engine is in it Desiel? If it's gas the AIS motor might be sticking or is bad. Does it run and is the check engine light on? are all the fluilds correct level? coolant level low can make the coolant senser lie about the temperture of the motor to the ecm and it'll command a high idel. Once the idel motor goes as high as it can it might be shicking and you can remove it and wash it off with carb spray and while it's out with the wire connected turn the key on and off with it in your hand and spray it with cleaner till it moves smoothly. With it retracted install it and try again, any vacume leak will make it idel fast. The trans mission will shift hard if the vacume line to it is off and it's on the back of the intake manifold and it goes to a modulater on the side of the trans. it can be off there too.

The drag from the transmission and the power assist for the power brakes andthe extra load of the brake lights on the electrical sytem, may accially slow down the altentor lowering the total system voltage, in the long run changing the voltage at the engine sensers, throwing the computers tune of the motor off some.. cars built since 1980 that have fuel injection shouldn't do this very little or none at all. The reason is that the fuel system has an automatic idel speed motor that catches the idel and holds it at the right level no matter what the load. This system has limits and problems that limit it's ability to keep the idel right. Then theres the other way around. There's a vacume leak or other problem making the engine idel too fast and when the loads are added ( power steering , in gear automatic trans, airconditioner, raditor fan ) bring the engine to the correct level and the system will keep it from going any lower.

sounds like the throttle position sensor, I think that is the one that makes it idel rough

Vacume leak or bad idle motor. With the car in park and running with the hood open listen for leaks moving your hand around the different hoses looking for a change in the sounds that you hear. The idel motor also makes the car idel up to 1500 RPM or so right at start-up then idel down, If it doesn;t the idel motor is likly. Check engine light is on when running? Test for codes, Follow code test charts don't skip any steps!.
