Question about Chevrolet C1500
I have kind of a strange suggestion but it actually is what was wrong with our Grand Marquis. The Catalitic Convertor (however you spell it) had come apart on the inside. The Convertor was making a horrific vibrating metal noise when given gas and not when idling.......only when you gave it gas and changed the pressure on it. It took two different mechanics to finally figure it out. The convertor was not actually stopped up - it had just come apart on the inside.

Did you check the fly wheel . sometime it could be cracked... or it could be a stater not doing what is to do ...

Is it when you are driving and push the gas? or when parked and rev up?
things that come to mind; worn valve guides, spun rod bearing, but also could be something that has nothin to do with the engine.
ill be able to help you better when you answer my original questions.
