Question about 1999 Dodge Intrepid

1 Answer

1999 Dodge Intrepid tranmission problem 1 and 2 gear work fine, no slipping of any kind. No 3rd or 4th gears goes to like in neutral mode. Did computor check and got P700, P733, and P734 something like these codes which told input and output sensor problem. Changed both sensors and still the same. Someone told me it could the internal module. What is the real problem and a fix for this.

There are bushings in the linkage for the shifter under the car at the shifter and at the trans. Those wear out or the retaining pin clip may have come off and pin got loose.

I have a 1998 Oldsmobile Bravada auto trans drive works fine but no reverse

Are you sure you have all 4 forward gears? Most of the time a no reverse condition also means 1st and 3rd only.No 2nd or 4th.If you dont have all the forward gears as i suspect , the reaction shell is stripped or broken. If you do have all the forward gears then these are the two most common reasons you do not have reverse.1 reverse input clutches are damaged or burnt 2 forward cltches have slipped to the point they are welded together causing a mechanical bind in reverse and also causing the transmission to pull forward in neutral.Let me know if i can help.Good Luck.

Most likely the second gear section of the transmission has gone bad. There are 3 or 4 different gear sections or assemblies in an automatic transmission, when they go bad, they go bad.

There are some sensors on the transmission that tend to go bad. You may also need to check the wiring. Could be a computer problem. How many miles?
