Fuel or air prob. Check MAF- mass air flow sensor on air intake if 1990 or newer. Main jet on carb if older-rebuild carb. Also oxygen sensor on exhaust just past manifold. Also EGR valve - clean with brake cleaner. Vacuum leak not advancing ignition maybe - check with engine running spray starting fluid around vacuum line connections aee if engine revvs. There's one line under carb that connects to engine that gets heat-damaged

SOURCE: bogs down when i accelerate

Make sure your injectors are all working i had a s10 with two injectors and one was not working right and it bogged down. And fuel pressure can cause this.

I have a Ford F150 XL with a 4.6 W engine the floor got washed and now it boggs down on acceleration it is a 2009.I have replaced the acceleraton pedal and throttle body but still boggs down

Needs to go on a scanner. Throttle bodies have to be reset to the computer. No programming, just a relearn/procedure. I knew it was a bad idea to put the TPS on the gas pedal. Nothing under the dash is weather packed.

1988 cutlass ciera boggs down when i accelerate

Hello! You have symptoms that point to incorrect fuel pressure.
First have the fuel pressure tested as follows; #1...engine running at idle: 13- 20 psi. #2...key on engine off: 23-30 psi. If pressure is incorrect change the fuel pump.

Does the engine "surge" at idle? If so, check the "fuel injection pressure regulator idle air control valve". Apply a vacuum to it; If fuel flows it is not the problem.
