Do you have any other lights on the dash (traction control, etc.)? I know that on my 1994 model I had the ABS and TC lights come on. The lights would stay on but if i held the brake while starting the car they would come on during the cycle and go back off until the brake pedal was released then I would here clicking and the lights would return. I took the car to the dealership and they said my ABS module was bad and it would cost around $2000.00 to fix everything. I told them to forget it that I would pull the bulbs out of the cluster before I spent that kind of money. Short story, as I was backing into my garage, I noticed the 3rd brake light was out (due to my stereo system). I replaced the bulbs (194's) and the lights went out and never come back on.

There should be electrical connection that goes to one or both calipers. If it is disconnected or severed your ABS light will stay on.

The abs sensors are on the hub not the pads and rotors.sometimes brake dust builds up really heavy or on the magnet ring and it can not generate a pulse. there is also an ABS pump that may be bad ,and it is very expensive, over 1000 dollars.have the sensors tested first.the wheel needs to be turned and the sensor output tested with an oscilloscope or scanner.

We have new brake pads and new rotors, now abs light is on, Why

Interesting question. The ABS magnetic sensors on each wheel can get gummed up with dirt, rust and brake dust. Perhaps the brake shop did not clean the sensor properly, or worse, may have damaged one or more when the rotors are replaced. The sensor also has a tough wire up to the chassis. If this is damaged or disconnected, the ABS light will turn on.

Take it back to the shop and have them check.

ABS light came on after changing pads and rotors

The ABS reluctor ring is mounted on the back of the rotor by three fasteners. They do NOT come with the new rotor. IF you did not transfer that part, there would be nothing for the sensor to get it's signal or (sine wve) from. That would set codes. Did you transfer abs ring along with the hub when putting on the new rotors ?

I have a 2000 blazer and my brakes quit working right so he changed the ABS unit and its still doing the same thing the brakes give out if i hold the brake for to long how can we fix this?

if it fades out not an abs problem pads and rotor may be glazed over [polished from riding brake] check pads and rotor if slippery polished over cut rotor/and replace pads ---if at low speed--almost stopping and getting an abs activation then one of the sensors is dirty or corroded and needs to be replaced low speed activation usually doesnt set off check engine light

My DSC and Brake warning lamps continuously light up in yellow once the engine has warmed up. They remain on after driving for a while and sometimes they shut off. Any ideas?

Check to see if your brake pads and rotors are in good condition. Or if you have replaced the pads yourself and have not reset the wheel sensors this would cause the ABS Antilock Brake System light and the ASC Automatic Stability Control light to stay on as the ASC uses the ABS brakes with computer assistance to control the car

Abs Is engaging irratically on 2002 avalanche

Did you bleed the system after doing the brakes? and since you din't say abs light I assume you mean the brakes are acting erratically. If you bleed the breaks first after that try it and if it still does it make sure you have the correct rotors and pads.

ABS light and TC light on

Have you tried to replace the pads ? Or it can be the rotors that are worn thin and need replacement. The pads seem to be grinding agains the metal rotors.

Anti lock brake system

If the light is not on it may not be the ABS that is pulsating on slow braking but it may be that your have warped brake rotors, even if the rotors were replaced with the pads the new ones may be warped already, we always check new rotors on a brake lathe before installing them because we have seen this happen many times
