Question about 2006 Ford F-150

1 Answer

2006 F-150 4X4 5.4ldr with a problem starting.

I have a 2006 F-150 4X4 5.4ldr with 31084 miles on it. It quite often has a problem starting smoothly. When I turn the key the engine will continue to turn over without starting, and when it does start it is a very rough start as if the engine is just barley going to make it. The engine already sounds like it is 50 years old. What could the problem be? Thank you for the help.

HI, I KNOW THESE ENGINES GOOD! I HOPE YOU HAVE BEEN USING A FL820 MOTORCRAFT OIL FILTER AND 5/20 OIL. IF NOT YOU MAY HAVE A PROBLEM WITH CAM PHASER'S AND OR TENSIONER'S. THR ENGINE IS A SINGLE OVERHEAD CAM ENGINE WITH VARIABLE CAM TIMING. I HAVE SEEN SEVERAL ENGINES WITH BAD CAM PHASER'S SIMPLY BY ADDING AFTERMARKET FILTER WHICH FALL APART INTERNALLY AND PLUG OIL GALLEYS TO HEAD AND CAUSE CAM PHASER'S TO ACT LIKE YOU'RE ENGINE IS RUNNING RETARTED UNTIL 2K RPM. IF NO NOISE IS HEARD TRY A FUEL PUMP ITS DRAINING DOWN AND COLD STARTS IT'S LIKE LACK OF ADEQUATE FUEL PRESSURE TO INJECTORS. IT'S REALLY SIMPLE. THESE TRUCKS WILL BE YOU'RE BEST FRIEND IF YOU USE AND FORD FILTER AND THE RIGHT OIL AND CHEVRON 87 OCTANE DUE TO THE INJECTOR'S CAN LEAK WITH CHEAP FUEL AND RUN LIKE ****. CHEVRON FOUND TO HAVE ADDITIVE TO KEEP INJECTORS CLEAN AND FUEL SENDER FROM BUILDING SULFUR AND READING FUEL LEVEL IMPROPERLY. HOPE THIS HELPS

I have a 2003 Chevrolet suburban when I start it up the transmission shifts smoothly but once I drive about 50 miles or more the tranny starts to slip please help

If the vehicle has more than 90,000 miles on it the transmission should be rebuilt. Chevy used the 4l60E transmission in Suburbans and it is not quite strong enough.A good rebuild will change all clutchs and plates along with the sun gear and cage. Also all electronic modules.I had mine rebuilt at 125,000 and afterwards pu an additional 200,000 on it without any slippage.

How do I fix Toyota camry accelerating issue?

Check the Fluid Level of your Transmission, You could also have worn clutches but I would start with the Transmission Fluid Level. Be VERY CAUTIOUS to use the Correct Transmission Fluid or you will damage your transmission and cause you quite the headache.

More than likely you have either a worn belt that need to be replaced or you have the belt tensioner freezing up. If you have more than 60,000 miles on it consider changing the belt, while you're at it look at the tensioner if it feels like it doesn't turn smoothly or has a lot of side to side play on the wheel then you'll need to replace it before it leave you stranded on the side of the road.

55,000 miles. new battery. new air filter. original spark plugs. runs very smoothly after starting. engine started having to turn over more then about 2 weeks ago. idle speed is slower I noticed. on...

You may have sludge in the idle air bypass valve and or the throttle blade is sludged up, clean them with an approved spray cleaner, call honda and ask what they recommend. You may also have a loss of fuel press due to a defective check valve in the fuel pump, in that case cranking time is increased quite a bit, as much as 5 or 10 seconds.

Wont start I think it is the timing belt

hi there do you have fuel pressure ? and if so what is the pressure ? when it cranks over is it cranking over smooth or a little irratic ? if its irratic not smooth then you probably jumped a few teeth on timing belt .how many miles on the motor and have you ever changed the timing belt? how did it quit while driving ? and if so how fast were you going ? if you were going fast you could have damaged valves so if you replace belt yourself do look close at the top of each piston to see if valve hit one . if so then you better let a head shop do the valves on the head , or you will end up wasting time and money ok i hope this was informative good luck let me know how it goes with a fixya rating please thanks
