Car cranks but wont start unless starting fluid is sprayed into the throttle body. Once it starts it stays on and runs good.

I'm trying to check the fuel pressure but im not sure where to hook up the test kit(gauge).

Thats where I checked first but i couldnt find the spot mentioned on the Hanes Repair Manual. I'll post a pic of my fuel rail in a bit. Thanks for your help Russell

I would also replace coolant temp sensor, they arent very expensive and cause alot of issues

Depending on the test kit , it should be at the fuel rail after filter

clogged injectors you need to put cleaner in the fuel to help get dirt and grit out of them some times (every 3 months).
I am assuming you are saying it will turn over but not fire and run when cold?

EFI= to Electronic Fuel Injection. If you have sparks, check for fuel delivery. Another is the electronic module on your distributor, but you already said you have spark and hopefuly the right "timming" too. So you checked the current and is OK, what else do we have.The computer? Remeber that Camry,is the cadillac of the Toyota. Some even have Lexus parts. So expect parts to be rather expensive!.

Yes, it sounds like the that there is no fuel getting to the motor. The fuel filter is the first place to start. Then you can move on to the pump. Sometimes if the pump wont start you can get it going temporarily by hitting the bottom of the fuel tank with a mallet.

SOURCE: CEL Code 71, V-6 engine.

This code can mean no EGR flow is detected, manually open the valve and see if the engine starts to stall, if it doesn't you have a plugged EGR exhaust gas passage

Did you check the fuel pressure before you replaced the pump ?
Can you spray carb cleaner or starting fluid into the throttle body and make the engine want to start ?
If it is throttle body injected, can you see the fuel spray when you crank it hot ?

Ford expedition 2007 engine crank but wont start and engine light blinking 8 times

You will need to do some testing here to find out why truck will not start,
this may be a bad fuel pump but lets check, a quick test is to spray starting fluid into throttle body. you will need to remove the intake boot to get to throttle body to spray, you will also need to open throttle plate with finger . with plate open spray fluid for 5 sec, then release the plate and put boot back on and try to start truck. if this is a fuel problem then truck should start and run for a few seconds and then die out. if it does this then i would say the fuel pump is bad,

A quicker test is to have someone banging on the bottom of the tank while someone to trying to start it, and if it starts then pump is bad, this is not a definite way but a quick way, try this first and then starting fluid. good day.

FUEL PROBLEM ! make sure its getting fuel to engine. spray a bit of starting fluid in throttle body. if car starts then dies, its a fuel problem. good-day !

My 92 geo tracker wont start. All it does is crank crank and crank more. My uncle has it rigged and have no clue what wires go where. So a wiring diagram for it would be nice. We checked everything, it...

Have you checked the fuel regulator and the pressure from the fuel pump to ensure it is not weak. In addition, you might want to check and see if fuel is going into the cyl. the catalytic converter may be plugged based on the year of the car. To check this you could pull the o2 sensor out of the exhaust and see if it keeps running, realize it won't run at 100%. If it is the back pressure will not allow fuel to come into the cyl.

I have a 1998 gmc suburban , just recently put another ( used ) engine in it (72,000) original on it . Every morning ,or after trying to crank it from a cold start it will not crank unless I spray...

Check the cold start circuit. Since I don't have a service manual for that particular vehicle, I can't give you the exact proceedure.

My 95 chevy blazer 4.3 2wd wont start unless i spray starting fluid into the throttle body then it stays running and drives good...when shutting the blazer off and restarting it it only spins over and not...

The cam sensor,or pick up coil in the distributor is at fault,witch ever it has.
