Whenever starting the car up or in park, neutral or at a stop light and stop sign the car shakes constantly. I thought the car had water in its tank and I added dry gas. No change in the car.

that sounds like a earthing fault , check the wiring from the lights for signs of breaks etc, and trace earth back to chassis connection to ensure a good earth
In park or neutral not much load on the engine, when you put it in gear, there is a load. How may miles on the engine? How long since a tune-up? Any applicable trouble codes? Check and clean the idle air system and throttle body, see if it helps? Check cylinder compression. If the compression is way low, it may be tough trying to get it to run correctly.
In the old days, carbed engine, no computer, sometimes we'd set the idle in drive, at least it was driveable, it wouldn't die every time you stopped at a stop sign or red light. Yeah, when you put in park or neutral, the rpms would go high. Sometimes, your just trying to keep it on the road, if possible.
-It could be miss fire, bad coil, air leak, injector or spark plug and plug wire. It's hard to tell at this moment.
-First able you needed to check all above to determine which part is bad.
Have you tried setting the idle in drive? If you try that, have a helper setting in there with their foot on the brake and parking brake set. I've seen many high mileage vehicles, that wouldn't idle correctly. Other than an engine overhaul, we would set the idle in drive. At least it wouldn't die every time you came to a stop sign or red light. Yeah, when you put it in park or neutral, the idle would go high, but, you don't drive it in park or neutral.
You can get a carb kit for the carb, see if it helps? The carb kit should have all the instructions you need to adjust settings. In the past every carb kit I used had plenty of instructions. I looked at rockauto.com, they had a carb kit for your vehicle. Find the model number on your carb and make sure it matches their carb number.
If your carb is a holley, you can check the holley web site. I haven't been there in a long time, I don't know if they would have instructions for your carb?
sounds like the torque converter lock up might not be disengaging. You might also want to check for engine vacuum leaks. Does engine idle smoothly when in park or nuetral ? if the idle is good I would suspect torque converter problem.
My Nissan Primera EGT (1993 Reg'd) has an immobiliser, which was causing a similar problem. Turned on ignition and nothing. The immobilizer was faulty to the starter motor, so we disconnected it from the starter and left the immobilizer on the fuel line. Starts now, no problem and the immobilizer would still stop the potential thieves as they'd have no idea without the immobilizer key why the engine will no more than start then stutter to a big full stop!!. The 240SX is probably a more modern Nissan but I bet there's an immobilizer built into it somewhere. You may need to take it to a Nissan expert or Dealer to check out. It's almost definitely something weird like an immobilizer or maybe the starter motor's blown it, but then you'd have heard the graunching noises that starter motors make when they're about to clap out, they don't usually just go. There may also be some disconnection of wires to the alternator, which amplifies the spark to the engine, but the starter motor would still turn, your engine just wouldn't fire up with the too weak spark. So if nothing moves, it's most likely an immobilizer or possibly (but unlikely) a sudden death starter motor.
