Find the cable from shifter to tranny, there will be an adjustment screw on it. Turn right to tighten, Also there is also a pin at the end of shift rod that may have broken off.

IHAVE AUTOMATIC 4 WHEEL DRIVE 6CILINDER .I CHANGED THE SPEED SENSER IN HOPES OF SOLVING PROBLEM THE MOTOR REVS UP WHEN DRIVING ACTS LIKE IT IS IN NUTRAL

It may actually BE in neutral. AUtomatc transmissions that are low on fluid often have trouble staying in gear and will slip back into neutral at times due to lack of fluid needed to engage the hydraulics required to go into the desired gear. Checking and topping up fluid may solve your problem.

HOWEVER, if it is low, they where did the fluid go (it doesnt evaporate!)???

If it isnt low and its going into neutral improperly when the stick is in drive.,..you likely have some serious engine control or transmission system problems needing immediate service. code pulls may help, but aside from a few remote issues, if its not low fluid, you really need to seek expert advice on transmission issues

2001 ford expedition, sometimes it pulls itself out of gear & sits in neutral until I restart the vehicle.

check tranny fluid. if fluid is ok than your prob going to need a new tranny. it could also be a transmission solenoid

99 camry wont shift Code P0500 speed sensor

The problem is a gear internal failure the gear who drive the speed sensor is defect the is why you don't have speed sensor reading. There is a way you can verify that remove the speed sensor drive it with a drill check the dashboard you will see.

Car wont shift into any position

Hi, I know this may sound saft but are you keeping your foot on the brake whilst trying to engage gears?
If you are then maybe a inhibitor switch problem.
