You may have a brake line that has rusted through. Check with friends and relatives to see who can recommend a garage they trust and would go to for repairs themselves. The problem is that if the brake line did rust through, it usually means others should be replaced before they leak, as you can lose your brakes. The brake lines aren't expensive, but the labor to replace most or all of them is. Good luck, hope you can find a trustworthy repair shop.

1998 jeep grand Cherokee 4x4 right front tire keeps locking up and makeing a grinding sound

Take the brakes apart & look for the problem

Brakes have to come apart once a year anyway,
to remove rust, inspect & lube & you flush the brake
fluid every 2 years,on all vehicles

Maybe the rubber flex hose is restricted or the calipers
& fluid are neglected & everything is just rusted & nothing
works

What kind of transmission fluid do I have to use

If this jeep is listed correctly, as a 1996 jeep Cherokee country then the correct transmission fluid would be Mercon or Dexron III . this is the correct fluid, Also if you remove the transmission dip stick and wipe it and look at the stick it will say dexron III. good day

I have 31x10.5x15 tires on the rear and stock 15in tires on the front of a 96 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The front end is trying to lock in 4 wheel low. Is it because of the different size tires? Can I disable...

Tire size is critical on any jeep but especially so on ones with quadratrac transfer cases. If you run different size tires it will cause the fluid coupler inside the case to overheat and fail. (big$ to repair)
Don't drive it that way and get a matching set of tires on there asap!!!

if your cars fuel is not electronically controlled... try overhauling the carburator. brake problems? replace the vaccum pump assy.... then drain the air out of the brake fluid drain nipple located in each wheel your going to need assistance here.. someone has to continually step on the brake while u bleed the air bubbles on the fuel line.... when ur help feels the peda is getting heavy.... close the nipple and repeat the procedure on the other tires.... be sure to wear protective glass brake fluid burns.... good luck...

Motor is right behind where arm connects to it. You need to remove inner panel.
