The proper oil for your Toyota is API 'SG' or 'SH" 10 w 30. And yes, the climate does make a difference it the oil weight. If you drove it where the temp was 50degrees or lower, it would require 5 w 30.

What engine oil mk triton 3.0 ltr v6

i do understand that this is your first question, but there is several countries which drive cars... from tropics to arctic - and all these cars use oil... oil depend on temperature, that is dictated by climate... what year is your car, what model, what fuel - all these variables affect which oil you use...

do rethink your question, state what year, model, fuel and climate you are living in...

i would suggest going to mitsubishi site and research there...

What oil do i put in a 1996 ford courier 2.6 petrol

you did not post in what country and what climate,

if you are in oz, then any oil sae10-40, it is suitable year round,

if you live somewhere where water freeze in winter then winter oil should be sae 5-30, or sae5-40, summer should be sae 10-40,

if you live in tropics where temperature constantly exceed 35c (95f), then oil used should be sae15-60 or even sae20-60.

any brand will do, my preference is semi-synthetics in cars made after 1985, if car is working hard - towing, driving daily short distances - i do change oil and oil filter every 5000km (3000miles), if it is driven regularly and in light conditions you can double these distances.

if you find this answer helpful - why do not vote for it?

Suitable engine oil for camry 96

  • Hi, Lijo.

  • The manufacturer recommends 5W30 conventional. I like Castrol myself. for a 1996 Camry. Newer Camry's require a 5W20 synthetic but not yours. Looks like 4 quarts is the amount.

  • If you have any comments please feel free to leave them here.
  • Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa.

WHA KIND OF OIL GOES IN THE DIFERENTIAL FOR A 2006 TUNDRA PICK UP 6 CIL

Fist things first if it is a differential there are 2 grades if you are in cold weather you nead a lighter oil (85-120W) if you are in a hotter climate (98- 168W) this is like this cause of the weight of the oil when in use under climate change a tropical area needs a thicker oil do to the heat so it can maintain viscosity under heat .

I don't know what weight of oil my car takes. i have been putting 10w-30 in my 1991 toyota celica st and i wanted to know if that is right because i want to switch my oil to synthetic.

As old as this is, you can certainly use 20W50 and might derive some benefit (slight fuel savings from a touch better compression, maybe you're burning a little even if it doesn't show in the exhaust- how often do you add?, etc.) Full synthetic can give you even wider viscosity range for easy cold starts without loss of high-temp performance- I think Mobil 1 has a 5W50 grade even, which my old Honda did great with.
