SOURCE: location of blower resistor on

Hello, Just follow the wire from the heater fan under the hood. Trace the power wire from the heater fan and it will join a connector midway on the Firewall. It will have 2 screws and 1 electric connector. Tap the connector with a screwdriver handle and see if the part starts working again.

If it does not, get a used or new blower resistor. Work on a cold engine and remove the screws and connector from the part. Temporarily plug in the new part to the connector and turn the Key to run with the fan ON. It should be blowing now. Turn off the switch and put the new part where you can reach it with 1 hand.

Undo a heater hose at the top rear of the motor going in front of the opening for the switch. With 1 hand remove the hose end, then switch parts with the new blower resistor with the other hand and slide the heater hose back on its fitting. Tighten the heater hose.

Then secure the new part into the Firewall and fasten its connector. You should have lost little Antifreeze by working on a cold engine as the hydraulic lock kept the fluid from running out.

This should be all you need to do except clean any spills away.

SOURCE: Location of blower motor switch resistor on 2004 Grand Marquis

The blower speed controller is located under the hood on the right or passenger side on the heater housing just to the side of the heater hoses near the very back of the right cylinder head.
Yes that would cause the concern you are having.

I think your resistor unit for the blower motor is bad. It is located on the engine side of the firewall in front of the passenger. There are a couple of videos on youtube on replacing the unit. See the link.

2002 MERCURY GRAN MARQUIS NO LOW AC BLOWER

More often than not, the Blower Motor Resistor would be at fault. It controls the speed of the Blower Motor by varying its speed revolutions. The Blower Motor Resistor is located under the hood under the heater hoses. You can purchase one from E-bay, Amazon, or check your local Auto Parts store(try to get the best price). To get an idea of where the Blower Motor Resistor is situated and what it would take to replace it, go to www.youtube.com. Type ......how to replace blower motor resistor ford crown vic.... and the video will pop up. There should be another video under it with the caption.....2003 ford crown
Victoria blower motor resistor swap... Watch both videos as they contain two different approaches in replacing the unit.

I have a 2003 mercury grand marquis and my blower motor does not work there is no voltage at blower motor plug checked fuse already and that is good and checked the relay they were both good

voltage comes from the actual a/c head, chek a wiring diagram to see which actual wire brings pwr down to ur blower . access by removing a/c head out to access backside connectors. another common problem overlooked is to to check ur blower resistors their located in the same area as ur blower motor. u have to access the two mounting bolts that hold it in. the pigtail/wires that connect to blwr mtr usually come from this resistor pak located in blwr hsg to help keep em cool.wat they do is vary the amount of ground going to blower mtr.wen u remove it a telltale sign that thir no good is severe rust buildup on the mounting plate or electrical module wrapped in sealant. good luk

Blower stopped working on my 2001 Mercury Grand marquis

Check the fuse first. If the fuse is good then either the blower motor or the blower motor resistor pack is defective. Check the blower motor by applying 12 volts directly to the motor. If it runs it is good and most likely the resistor pack is bad and needs replacing. it can also be the blower motor speed control but rarely do they go bad.

Need to change fan motor control switch? Only works on high setting.

this problem is not caused by the switch, it is caused by a defective blower motor speed control resistor, the resistor is located near the blower motor.

The heater and a/c in my 2003 grand prix will on

Your blower motor resistor is the problem.
The blower motor resistor is located near the blower motor on the passenger side in the heater case. The resistor is held in by two screws and has one electrical connector that plugs into it. Purchase the resistor and you will know exactly what you are replacing. Good luck

Ac or heat wont blow

Needs a blower motor resistor if the fan only blows on one speed. It is located underneath the firewall on the outside, near where the passenger exhaust system is. You need to take the passenger side cat converter off to get to it.
