Start with checking your gas cap and also clean around the neck of the gas filler inlet that is what mine was after changing all the sensors at a garage thats what solved the problem 12.000 for a cap or 1000 for sensors start with the gas cap

Had a similar problem and took it to the dealer - it is a defect which is common to a range of Kia Sportage. Eventually, the engine will not start.
The manufacturer paid for an engine replacement.
