My mitsubishi galant 2011 well crank but wont start

Has it overheated lately?
My wife overheated our Galant and it just stopped working, it cranks but that's it.
I pulled the sparkplugs and found them wrapped in a gewey jelly like substance. Like an oil/antifreeze combo.
I am going to replace the entire motor for $1000 as taking it to the mechanics to theorize and practice may cost more.

HI' to find the crank sensor you need to remove timing cove, Is by the crankshaft pulley

could be the crank sensor, you need to check spark and fuel delivery, if you have fuel then its got to be the high tension side of things that are wrong, does this model run off a coil pack for the ht, could be that, you said you change the alternator, check connections at the rear of alternator, this could be the supply for the ht etc,good luck.

ok it could be one of 2 things..

The starter is sticking.,.. It keeps making a click click sound.. Replace starter..


If there is no click click at all,, replace the park neutral switch on the transmission..
