I have a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee unlimited v8 4x4 all day. I has no power and won't stay idling. Put it on a code reader and nothing comes up. This happened after changing the water pump and 6 of 8 spark...

Generic code reader will only read codes of faults that will or could affect exhaust emissions though many inexpensive code readers will usefully also allow the viewing of live data.
Sometimes knowing what a fault isn't is quite useful...

I heard from a colleague that Jeep electronics aren't easy to read and dealer level diagnostic equipment is sometimes necessary.

2012 dodge ram 5.7 2500 will not stay running.

If you don't have a code reader that reads live data, borrow one or go to an auto parts house and 'rent' one. Watch your intake air temp (and coolant temp) as the engine warms up. If you don't see the temperatures going up (coolant more than IAT), you may have a bad temp sensor. The computer feeds more fuel when the engine is cold, and may be running the engine excessively rich when it is warmed up.

Heater control sensor ford fiesta 2003

if its a diesel engine then their is a relay/timer box but this is a petrol so iam at a loss as to weither this is a code reader fault reading the fault as i have two code readers and cannot get into a ford of this age it will only read the vin number so iam at a loss as to either a cab heater fault which i cannot see throwing the engine light on or the autochoke sensor because all these code readers give the answer in good old american and we all know they cannot spell colour correctly or pronounce aluminium.Bless them no go for the engine autochoke sensor and check that out first but the main cause of the light on with a ford of this year is the O2 sensor their are two wires the same colour out of the four wires now disconnect the socket and check for a continuety on the sensor side of the socket and if no continuety then renew the sensor if a check shows continuety the check the opposing plug socket and check for a 12v supply .Hope this helps and sorry i cannot pronounce aluminium or know the difference between a saturn or a windstar and think all nissans are diesel ,red face on my part here but iam a brit living in spain .

Ligth "on"service engine soon

Po116 is a code for coolant temp sensor out of range. I would check the temp sensor data with a scan tool to see what it is reading. If it is lower/higher than it should be than there are a couple of possibilities.

1. the coolant temp sensor is bad (or possibly the wiring to and from it)
2. there may be an issue with the thermostat.

Reading live data with a scan tool would be a good start. The temp sensors are not that terribly expensive and fairly simple to replace. It wouldn't be a bad idea to start with replacing it if you don't have access to live data on a scan tool.

let me know what you find or if you have any questions. Thank you for using fixya.com!

My car temp gauge showed over heating at highway speed. Then upper rad hose blew. Pulled over and had car towed home. I have a Matco tools code reader. Computer doesn't show any codes. Why would that...

Using your tatco code reader, select current data (real-time data) and select engine coolant temp sensor (ECT). Run engine to operating temperature (A/C off). Monitor the temp reading - when the temp reaches approx 204 deg farenheit, the fans should kick on, after the temp drops to approx 198 deg farenheit, the fans should turn off. The fans are controled by the ECM (Engine Control Module). The ECM controls the cooling fan relays.

I have replaced the oxgen sensor and the check engine light is still on. what do i do now

Just because the fault codes read out the O2 sensor, it does not mean the sensor is bad. You can have a lean or rich condition that is caused by some other engine part that has gone bad. A diagnosis has to be done by a technician using a high end scan tool to monitor various data in the computer.
