Question about 2005 Chrysler Crossfire

Ignition seems stuck

I just purchased a 2005 Crossfire convertible. I was very frustrated driving it home. At each stop, when I turned off the ignition, it took up to five minutes to jiggle, turn the wheel and get the car started. I've read and reread the manual -- what am I doing wrong?

Mayeb try door lock lubricant... do this at your own risk, I dont know if thats an electronic key or not, I am not familiar with the corssfire..

I have had the same issues with my Bike..now ofcourse my bike ignition is exposed to weather, but there was a time when I couldn't get the ignition switch on at all, I used some door lock lubricant and it works like new.

What would make the ignition switch stick an not turn to start the motor

Clyde, try moving steering wheel back and forth while trying to turn key. This sound like it should have been a recall for faulty ignitions as when I googled it, there are a lot of cross fires with the same problem. Clyde, google search (2005 crossfire ignition switch)
There is just too much for me to write.

Went to buy an 05 Chrysler Crossfire Convertible from a used car dealer. He was replacing the spring in the key fob. When he tried to start the car, the engine turn over then stop. When tried again nothing...

Try using a code reader to reset the CPU and have him reprogram the key correctly as well. Personally I would not buy a car from this person until he had everything fixed properly.

Dodges have a gear reduction in the starter, usually. It could be wearing out. Have it checked out at a rebuild shop.

2005 crossfire top wont go down

This can be caused by your trunk lid not being all the way shut .  But the most times this has happened to me the separator panel that lifts out toward you and latches to separate top from trunk space is not lifted into the latched position.. very frustrating till i figured it out.  Hope this helps helps.
