my 2000 chev suburban keeps throwing off the belt on my air conditioner and breaking the arm. what is the deal?

If you have 1 sepentine belt make sure the tensioner isn't loose, defective or cocked at an angle. If it doesn't have an tensioner make sure the tension adjustment bolt on the A/C unit is tight. Also check to make sure the belt is not stretched out. You should have firm tension on the belt at all times.
