Question about 2005 Chrysler Sebring Conv

1 Answer

When I went to start my car today the car gave me a single click and would not start. I replaced fuse 8 which is the fuel/starter fuse because I have this problem in the past and that usually fixes the problem. When I replaced the fuse it still did not turn on instead it blew the fuse. It blew through 3 fuses each time I replaced it. I used a 20 amp fuse which was the size previous;y in it's place. I even tried getting a jump incase it wa sthe battery I was having trouble with but it still won't start. Please help!

Blown fuse amp start fuel 8

Pls be more specific, doe's this fuse keep blowing or what? Fuse blows and your car won't start. I have a 2004 GTC and the #8 fuse kept blowing, had to replace the starter, (it was pulling 80amps instead or the normal 30-35) once the starter was replaced, no more starting issues and the fuse no longer blows. Hope this helps, good luck

This happens all too often on the Chryslers, the starter fuse blowing. The cause in most cases is the starter solenoid. I recommend replacing the starter and the solenoid when this happens, to keep from having to do it again a few months later, I hope this helps.

My car won't start, only a single click sound.

Replace the starter. If its a Nippondenso Starter a Alt/Starter shop can just replace the Solenoid Contacts.

You said you tightened the battery cables, did you check the other end of the negative where it bolts to the engine. When you tightened the cables you also used a battery brush and cleaned the posts and ends?
