It means that your switch is working ok but the regulator has broken and window motor is trying to roll window up but can not do so. Would replace the window regulator at minimum and motor if possible due to age and chance of failure as well.

SOURCE: passenger side window won't roll up using the driver's side switc

Before you replace anything, inspect the connector pins in both the driver's door switch and the passenger door switch. If you don't find any problem with these connector pins, replace the driver's door control switch.

Replace the Window Regulators and maybe the motors. Sounds like the drivers window has done what mine did and the cog has rolled off the end and jammed on the regulator. Reg's are cheap (£35 or so), make sure you buy some panel clips for the door trims as you will break some! A trim removal tool is also recommended. Clips are a few quid, tool is usually around £10 or so.

Sounds like you need a window motor. Try hitting in center of door trim panel to see if you can get it to work if so replace motor.

Window will not roll up

Their is a separate motor for each window. The least expensive fix is to replace the entire track assembly and motor. This is not a big job if you have done it before but it could be if you are not mechanical.

Window

take off door panel and see if window has fallen off the track. may have to replace window motor as it is part of the window regulator is inside the motor and that maybe what is out.
