Question doesn't make sense. Explain more fully. What diagnostic tool do you have? I've never heard of a diagnostic socket. Do you mean the OBD connector? All models from 1996 on use a universal connector, called an OBD-II connector. On Board Diagnostics- since 1996, all vehicles sold in the USA are required to have the same connector. Fits any OBD scanner or code reader.

technically, it is obd-2. anything before 1996 were called obd-1, as in first generation. some 1994, '95 models, while still obd-1 in engine controls, used the obd-2 connector, causing bafflement in owners but made the dealerships cruise like thieves.

2009 Chevy Impala LT code b001b What to do with this?

Code B001b is for Sensing Diagnostic Module (SDM) for Air bag.

Potential Causes:-
  • Drivers Seat Belt Anchor Pretensioner
  • Passengers Seat Belt Anchor Pretensioner
  • Sensing Diagnostic Module (SDM)
  • Sensing Diagnostic Module (SDM) Wiring
1. Confirm the passenger seat belt anchor pre tensioner connector position assurance is clicked into place.

2. If not, click it in and retest.

3. If the codes reset, disable the Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) system.

4. Substitute a 2.0 to 2.2 ohm resistor for the passenger seat belt anchor pretensioner. Refer to Tech Tips for a load tool.

5. Retest for the code to reset.

6. If the code resets, check for harness problems between the seat belt anchor pretensioner and the Sensing Diagnostic Module (SDM).
Tech Tips: At the beginning of the 2009 model year, the Impala began being equipped with two pre tensioners for the driver and two pre tensioners for the front passenger. The first pretensioner is still attached to the seatbelt retractor. The second pretensioner is attached to the anchor point for the seat belt.
A load tool can be fashioned from an 1157 light bulb and socket. Turn the bulb into the socket. Using an ohmmeter, determine which 2 wires have 2 - 3 ohms of resistance. Use those 2 wires as the load tool.

Check enginge is on all the time

you need a diagnostic tool to pin point the exact location of the problem.By analizing the trouble code provided by the tool.
From there check the electrical wiring for loose or disconnection, check the socket/parts for wear or replace faulty sensors. After you fix the problem disconnect battery to take out the trouble code or check engine light. good luck!!!

I need the colour of the wires going to the diagnostic plug, for the terminals going to Ten /gnd/ fen/ +b

Believe it or not Google is a very powerful tool for finding just about anything. Per your request I Googled the following: Mazda 323 1997 diagnostic socket wiring
Next I clicked on the very first link that appeared: The info looks pretty much to be there --> xedos6.ru/files/pdf/codes_obd_i.pdf

Volvo v70 abs light and mil light on. no coms with diagnostic socket, all fuses are ok. no 12v at diag socket, so no diag tools will work.

Are you plugging into the obd2 diagnostics port under the dash or the diagnostics port under the hood? You should be plugged in under the dash to read codes for the MIL / ABS light. Just a heads up as well most scanners you can buy from the part stores do not have the necessary program protocols to read European cars.

How to check the trouble codes on a 2001 chrysler concorde 2 7L

I assume you are asking about the "check engine" diagonstic codes.

You can check the codes yourself by using the key and ignition switch. With the engine off, put the key in the ignition and turn it ON-OFF-ON-OFF-ON -- do not turn to the extreme right "start engine" positon, but to the last click just before the start position.
You will then see a code list read out where the odometer (mileage) usually displays. It will start with dashes in the readout "-------", then each diagnostic code will appear in sequence like P1684, P0700, and then the word "done" after all of the codes have been displayed.

One word of warning -- I have found that sometimes all of the diagnostic codes do not display with this method, so it would be best to also check the codes using an electronic diagnostic code reader. You can do this for free yourself as explained below.

Go to your nearest "national chain -- do it yourself" auto parts store such as Auto Zone or Advance Auto. Ask to borrow the "engine code reader diagnostic tool" -- you will have to give them your driver's license to borrow it. Then, in the parking lot, check the diagnostic codes yourself.

Turn the car key to the "accessory position" -- i.e., not started, but with the accessories on. Power on the diagnostic tool. Plug the attached pin connector into the Chrysler diagnostic socket located just under the dasboard below the ignition switch. Press the "read codes" button on the diagnostic tool -- you will see a diagnostic code and a brief message about what it means. Keep pressing the "next" button until you have read all of the codes.

P.S. Don't forget to get your driver's license back when you return the diagnostic tool!
