Try your boo(brake on/off switch) switch on brake pedal. unplug it and jump connector with a piece of wire and have someone look behind truck and see if brake lights turn on. if brake light illum, there you go replace switch. make sure pay special attn how switch comes off after pulling pin out. also try fuse if all else is ok.

Check the brake light switch. Its near the brake padel under the dash. If it back out just a bit the vehicle will think someone is pushing on the brake pedal.

98 ford lariat. Headlights stopped working. running lights come on and brake lights and turn signals. checked all fuses under dash and under hood, pulled out headlight switch and it looks fine. note only...

Is this both the high beams and low beams that do not work ?

If you checked all 3 fuses with a meter ( with the headlamp in Low position for both low beam fuses or in high for the high beam fuse ), the next items to test are the MFS ( MultiFunction Switch ) and the main headlamp switch ( test not look at it ).

On my 1990 ford f150 i have to press the brake pedal down real far to get my break light to come on it seem to work fine when truck is not running only when i start the truck up

Above the brake pedal arm is a small switch with a rod sticking out toward the brake arm. This is the switch that controlls the brake light. You can loosen the nut and turn the unit to adjust it. It won't take much adjustment to change the action of the switch. It should be so when the brake pedal is depressed 1/2 inch the brake lights are activated.

I have a 2001 Ford F150, my brake lights dont work. Ive replaced the bulbs, checked the fuses, and the brake switch on side of the brake pedal was replaced. I still dont have any brake lights. My third brake light works fine, along with my running lights, flashers, blinkers.

Signal lights and brake lights stopped working

the multifunction switch (turn signal switch) is a major cuase of this. your high mount stop lamp wire is run through the switch.
