2006 PT Cruiser cranks but won't start, runs on ether. New fuel pump.

No codes, will run on ether but not getting fuel,all fuses are good and has new fuel pump

    When it runs on either, that means you have spark, no fuel with a new fuel pump indicates the fuel pump relay isn't sending power to the fuel pump because it is bad or not getting signal from the ECM. It gets a signal from the ignition pulses to pull in the fuel pump relay. Since you get start on either that says spark is good so the trouble is likely in the signal oath to the fuel pump relay or the fuel pump relay itself.

    Is there good fuel in the gas tank? Is the fuel filter plugged?

Is the fuel pump relay sending power to the pump, do you have normal fuel pressure at the injectors, and are the injectors getting power and pulse from the computer ?

UN hook your fuel line up by motor and try to start it if no fuel squirts out you got one that's no good!! If it's from AZ it happens from time to time.

2.4 pt cruiser wont try to crank even with starting fluid its got good firing on all cylinders good suction at intake and fuel pumps getting fuel to motor have no way to tell how strong the fuel press
If a volatile starting fluid, typically ether, won't make it fire or even sound like it is trying to fire the problem is likely to be with the spark though if attempting to start continuously for some time hasn't caused the smell of petrol about the place and caused the spark plugs to show signs of wetness there probably isn't any injection taking place either.

In the absence of both spark and injection it could be an immobiliser problem or it could be one or both of the positional sensors (crankshaft or camshaft) or the connections or wiring or the ECU that has failed.
A code read might help.

I suggest spending some time checking the fuses first and then carry out a thorough visual inspection of all the associated pipes, wires and cables before moving on to a more in depth diagnosis.

I just replaced a fuel pump in a 2008 pt cruiser. Getting good power to the pump. Asd relay is good. Wiring is good. Still won't pump fuel. Thoughts?
Check to see if there is a fuse for the fuel pump, then check if there is a impact shut off switch like the fords, and sometimes the fuel pump will run till after the ignition is cranked over....

Where is the fuel pump fuse on a 2006 pt cruiser
There is no separate fuse for the fuel pump on the '06 and later PT Cruisers. If you're attempting to do something that require the engine to turn over, e.g. a compression test, use a manual remote starter connected between the starter solenoid and the positive battery terminal. The fuel pump won't be active with the ignition turned off.

Had friend put OBD diagnostics to it and error code indicated fuel pump ????? No code indicates replacing any part . Indicates testing ! pressure and flow testing , voltage drop testing the electrical circuit etc... There is a check valve in the fuel pump assembly that is suppose to keep pressure in the fuel lines an fuel rail . When the check valve goes bad allows fuel to drain back into the tank. Try turn the key on an off a few times to build up pressure . The PCM energizes the fuel pump relay for two seconds at key on .
