Jonypopr isn't entirely accurate, but he's close enough. FM radio stations in the US are all stereo. If you are tuned, for instance, to 90.1 then you are actually listening to the entire band between 90.025 and 90.175. More accurately the left side of stereo is broadcast using the bandwidth between 90.025 and 90.1 the right side uses 90.1 to 90.175. All stations are set up like this so you are actually using the bandwidth of the even numbers except for a small "spacer" between stations to keep the signals separate.

Why? North American radio stations are only broadcast on "odd" frequencies - x.1, x.3, etc.

Radio problems in 2006 tacoma

If the radio contains an amplifier, check the 7.5A ACC fuse in the driver side junction box and 10A RADIO 1 fuse in the engine room junction box

If there is a separate amplifier, check those two fuses but also the 30A RADIO 2 fuse in the engine room junction box

I have a 2006 Toyota Tacoma Double cab and up until a few months ago my radio was working perfectly, but now my reception is terrible. Do you think the antenna has become disconnected underneath the dash...

Your diagnosis sounds about right. Antenna cable is large round cable pushed into rear of radio. Common with bouncing/stiff suspension on trucks.

I have an Highlander Limiter Hybrid with integrated Navi and 6 cd radio player.how can I listen the radio stations that has odd frequency ?

Hi it sounds like your vehicle was destined for the american market and it will only be tunng in 200Khz steps on the odd frquencies. Chances are the radio will either need to be replaced with one suitable for your county ( new replacement ($$) or secondhand equivalent from wrecker) Most toyota radios ran the same plugs on the basic wiring harness so most anything that fits the hole will work - you will most likely lose the nav function however

Zuk 89 dash board high beam light stays on, even when engine off

That is an odd problem...........I would try looking for a loose ground wire under the dash. Sometimes you can get a "feed back" problem from a poor ground. Any recent work on the radio wiring which has ground wires near it

if you have a factory radio, then chance are you antenna is amplified (even if you don't have an antenna that goes up in the back). The fuse for the antenna amplifier could have blown or the amplifier itself my have gone bad. It could also be your radio but, i would check those things first... Just a side note: i don't know of any stations that around me that aren't odd numbers 92.3 fm,95.5 fm,100.3 fm. Where you able to tune it to 100 fm before?

factory radios only tune into odd numbers... radios stations broadcast on odd numbers to avoid some frequency interference... ive only see a few aftermarket radios that tune to even numbers also
