First off, if it's a 2.7L , yes there is some scary stories out there, but if oil is changed regularly as well as PCV components, and cooling system kept in good condition, then they can last as well as any. Engine sludge is main culprit on those. Second, is it just one window, and does it work sometimes or not at all.?

I can drive my 1999 dodge intrepid for a while and cant start it

Many vehicles turn on the electric cooling fan if the temperature is high under the hood which prevents hard starting of a hot engine.
If yours never has had the fan run for a minute or two, then it isn't supposed to but if it did it once but now doesn't, the thermal switch that should turn it on has failed.
Try holding the gas pedal to the floor before turning the key; if it starts, then there was too much gasoline in the cylinders causing wet plugs which don't want to fire.

I have a 1999 grand prix gt and the front window goes down ,but now will not go back up, all the other windows are fine,do I need to replace the window motor?

Unfortunately you probably do need to replace the window motor , however as a preventative measure in the future use a special silicon lube you can aquire from Napa to lube up the window runners allowing less resistance for the electic motor to raise the wiindow in the future avoiding this problem.

Is there such a thing as a computer block feature to prevent starting the engine after a problem has occurred to prevent further damage? (After trying numerous times.) 1999 Dodge Intrepid.

A code scan will reset the computer,I'm not sure about a block but the computer stores the ignition and fuel info and if these are dumped from the memory the motor will not start.

Window problem

Sounds like the cable for the power window mechanism has failed. Most cars, you replace as an assembly with a new motor. You usually can't buy just the cable. And, on some cars there is a plastic piece that breaks, and even though all other components are good, you can't buy just the plastic piece.

2004 dodge interprid transmission gears

Chances are your engine light is on too. Your actually in 2nd right now, this is called limp mode. It's built into your cars computer to avoid catastrophic failure when a sensor or other issue arrises. You should go imediately to your dealer and have them read the codes and provide you with a proper estimate. My best guess at this time would be a speed sensor.
